it's perfect for restaurants, when visiting family/friends, or at home when your little one wants to sit in a big chair just like their older sibling.
i have been using this chair since my son was 7 months old and it was great, easy to clean, he sat comfortably in it and when he got older, i adjusted the height and he used it as a booster seat at
we started with the fischer price high chair that sits on a regular chair like this does, but it had so much padding she started to hate it as she got older.
my older children have no problem removing the tray for her, but she can't get it off herself, this is great as some high chair trays are kinda tricky.
besides, seats that do recline typically have weak enough recline supports that older children break the chair by forcing it to recline on their own.
i think the positioning of the seat makes it more comfortable for a smaller baby, and the more upright seating as they get older and bigger.
the only thing that you have to be worried about is if you have a older toddler, he/she just may want to use it!
as she got older, she liked to swing front to back, and started to really pay attention to the mobile and mirror above her-- she is now six months old and still loves to sit in it!!
another plus is that it has a real delicate look to it (believe me it isn't) so my older children don't try to climb into it.
my only complaint is that the seat doesn't sit up very high which i can see might be a problem when he gets a little older and wants to sit up.
i can totally see how it would be a great computer chair for him when he's older.
i know when she gets older the chair will be what she ends up using at a desk and can even eventually bring to college or even use with her own children down the line, it really is a piece of
bought 1 chair to try for my 2.5yo & 5yo they both love it (the little one uses it when an older brother is not there).
it can be adjusted so the seat is perfect for a 1 year old's bottom and leg length, as well as an older child.
we bought the earlier model of this chair (the kinderzeat) for my older son when he was about 18 months and refused to sit in his booster chair anymore.
this highchair is so easy to use, safety harness makes it nice for children that aren't real secure at sitting up alone, yet can be taken to just a lap belt as he/she gets older.
i have no compliants -- it is a really nice chair and i am certain, the older my daughter (currently 6 months old) the more use i will get out of the chair.
i like the height adjustment, that way the chair slide under the table when he is older.
maybe as he gets older he'll utilize it.
now that she is older and eating some with the family, we can pull the chair up to the table, and her tray fits right on top of the table.
we got it for my older son when he was just over 2 years.
when my son gets older i will def.
my two and 1/2 year old can finally sit at the table like his older sister and feel like a big boy.
she now feels like a big girl and can sit at the table just like her older sister.
we actually are borrowing it from a friend, whose daughter is 5 months older than our son.
he was a bit older and stronger too.
a) using this on an older baby, not a 4-5 mon old.
our older daughter and 9 month twins love, love, love this but the go sideways & twirl around.
she's a pretty active 6-month old and as she's gotten older, she just jumps and jumps.
we originally bought it because the older one wouldn't sit in his booster seat at 18 months old.
i'd hold off on buying this chair for babies, wait until the kids are older.
8) the tray insert has little rubber feet on it so you can use it for an older child as a tray on the table!
but's it's an older model, so perhaps newer dishwashers can fit them.
first of all there are two pads, one for younger babies that is more padded and supportive and another for the older children.
this is helpful when your child gets older, you can remove the tray and pull the chair up to the table to allow your child to dine with the family!
i can only hope that as our son gets older and bigger the strap getting smaller will get it out of his sight.
i would like bjorn to make some longer bibs for when the baby grows older or you need something a little longer to fit under a very close fitting high chair tray.
as he grew older and started feeding himself more (and soaking his cloth bibs to the point of uselessness) i tried the baby bjorn bib on him again (he was about 11 months old).
i had an original one from my older son, 2 years ago, still good and can be washed in dish washer.
fine for a baby, but ineffective for an older toddler.
i figured it would come in handy for some occasions, and i saved it until my daughter was a little bit older (able to comfortably sit on her ...
now that she is older and no longer needs a high chair or booster chair we still use it frequently when friends with younger children come over to visit.
my daughter loves to sit on the same level as us and another friend of mine who has an older child says it is the only chair her son can not escape from!
i had a different hook on seat that i had used for my older two boys when they were small, but it was so big and bulky.
with our 2 older children, we struggled with our high chair, as they were too big for a 6 month old (so we had to feed them from their infant seat), and when the chair was able to be used, the clean
at age five months, baby was able to sit up straight in this chair, something that was never possible with our older highchair until the kids were eight or nine months.
but, our other seat cushion is even older and still in great shape.
the older chicco's seem to be made better but this chair gets the job done.
i have one for my older kid in 2007 while i've just bought another one for my newborn this month (2008).
it is also so easy to assemble, the older children put it together for the baby, which is a big plus if you have 10 kids!
the belt has tons of room for bigger/older babies.
oh yeah, one other negative is that this chair seems to be geared towards older children.
haven't used the recline postions yet as my daycare child is older.
as compared with an older high chair, this one is great for reasons already mentioned by others: easy storage, easy clean-up, center post and mini non-removable tray, good looks etc.
as they get older, this is no longer a problem!
at the beginning, he seemed to get quiet when seated in it but as he got older he got more comfortable.
my only complaint is that i didn't have this neat chair for my two older kids.
this way he could sit up and see his older brother and sister.
when my daughter was very little, she would "arch" out backwards, although her preferred exit method became a sort of sideways cartwheel as she got older.
we kept a bumbo for him at day care, where the older kids (it's an in-home family day care) couldn't resist sitting in the chair once in a while.
we plan to use it as his chair at the dining table when he gets a little older.
i can imagine how nice it will be once my son is older to be able to let him work on art projects and homework at the table in his own chair that is sized for him, and we won't have to get him a
i will probably either give this away or use it when baby is older and not spilling food all of the time, but for a baby high chair it does not do the job at all.
it has an option for 5 point straps or 3 when your baby gets older.
plus it converts to a booster seat for when he gets older.
i had a full size highchair that i had used for my older daughter, but it just took up too much space in my kitchen, not to mention it was a pain to adjust and recline.
as our child gets older and starts trying to manuever her way around in the chair, i don't feel it would be sturdy enough for her safety.
