the entire seat area was cushioned with thick, comfortable, futon-like padding and it seemed very easy to assemble in a shopping cart or a restaurant high-chair.

couple of complaints - it is bulky after folding, tray attachment snaps in but the locking mechanism is flimsy, no padding on the foot rest (my little one swings his legs against the hard plastic),
but the pad, the color and the toys that come with this high chair make me feel that i bought the right one for our baby.

i also don't like that there isn't any padding on the back part where the baby leans her back against the cart seat.

it is pretty easy to put on, and does give pretty good protection from the germy carts and at least a **little** padding for the cart as well.
it would be nice if the metal bars had a bit more padding (this is why i give it a 4 instead of a 5).
the new ones do not have the table pad with it, which is too bad because you always had a clean surface for food.

my only concern is that the headrest area doesn't seem to provide enough padding to protect baby from getting hurt when she arches her back and bumps her head against it - an easy enough fix.
the one review about the baby being uncomfortable because of the hard wood seems ridiculous since babies have plenty of padding on their diaper alone!
my second hand one was missing the pads, but i just took some googone to the glue and then stuck on little felt pads, fixed that problem right up.
