good enough thati can use the low setting after about a couple of hours on high.i like the automatic thermostat that starts it all by itself when it get below set mark...better than alot of more
great control features, too...and a the temp readings and thermostat seem accurate.
my furnace does not run during the day (yes, i've turned the thermostat down).
i liked the thermostat, high and low settings, and the additional fan setting (to use in the summer or just when i want a bit of white noise at night to drown out the neighbors).
i think in this coming northeast winter, when our thermostats are set extra low to save oil, our heater will be a real boon.
the operation is quiet, it can be thermostatically set, and it is easily portable.
it can go all day long-no problems...except for the thermostat.
i keep my thermostat between 63 and 65 and my house stays so warm.
- adjustable thermostat
when ordering a thermostat for this unit make sure you are viewing the units page...
just remember you must purchase a thermostat as well as proper wiring.
i will note that i'm using a standard cadet thermostat that attaches to the end of the heater and just has the "hi" to "lo" dial settings.
the thermostat setting is great because i leave the unit running all the time at 65 degrees, then bring it up to 70 in the morning.
heats up fast, thermostat works fine (so far!).
the thermostat has never worked on the unit -only the continuous hi / lo setting.
great product - thermostat of desired temperature and current temperature in the room as it increases to the desired temperature.
we spend our time mainly in the family room but only have one thermostat for the whole of downstairs.
the digital thermostat seems to be working accurately.
pros: tons of safety features that actually work, heats rooms well, cool-to-touch, quiet, stylish cons: cost, hard to find, thermostat reads a little warm, hard to service the bottom line:
additionally, at every interval when the thermostat kicks in, you hear a loud enough click.
we plan to keep our thermostat very low this winter, and will use this heater in the rooms we're using.
i put one on in the living room and one clear at the other end of the house and i haven't had to turn my thermostat up past 60.
my only complaint about this heater is how poorly the enclosed instructions explain how the thermostat works.
it uses a single button to allow for choosing a constant low or high setting, or thermostatic control at either setting.
automatic thermostat on this unit is worthless.
it is energy efficient supposedly at 400 and 800 watts....400 works all night in oscillation mode to keep my bedroom warm...but be forewarned also...there is no thermostat so it stays on.
i don't care that it doesn't have a thermostat for this reason...
be sure to set the thermostat at a reasonable setting, otherwise it could get very toasty, especially if you plan to sleep in that room (you'll wake up sweating!).
it does a great job of keeping my daughter's 12x12 foot room warm all night when on low setting (700 watts) and about half on the thermostat setting.
it is totally silent, excepting for a slight click when the thermostat kicks in and heats my good sized bedroom through the night with total warmth and comfort.
the thermostatic variable control works well (unlike some others i have tried).
apartement about 10 degrees with no problem (our landlords have the thermostat).
it is adorable, puts out the heat like you wouldn't believe, has a thermostat, and even a remote if you are in bed and the room gets too cold or too warm.
now i am able to set the timer and go to sleep at night with the thermostat low.
i agree with other reviewers that the fan could have a bit more power for faster heating but most important to me is that the thermostat is only settable in 5 degree increments.
it has a thermostat control, power switch, auto shut off if tipped, and forces are from the top and hot air forced to the bottom so you can place the heater against the wall if needed
i've used this heater to save on utility bills by keeping the house thermostat low and using this to deliver spot heat in just the rooms i use.
the build quality is great, but it is louder than most heaters and the thermostat will never shut off the heating element even at the lowest setting.
good product overall ,does not not work with big rooms the thermostat is not completly accurate ,very quiet, good for the price
only thing i wish it had was a digital thermostatic control, but after a couple days of fiddling, you get just the right temperature and can leave it there, tweaking it if necessary.
it works perfectly, and i like how the thermostat sets the temperature.
thermostat is nice too, so that it shuts itself off every now and then and you don't have to worry about it.
it's perfect for small rooms, and very nice that it auto turn off and on with the thermostat.
a thermostat.
each of them is combined with a lux products win100 programmable thermostat.
picked this up a few weeks ago when it first showed up because my old space heater had a very noisy fan, and no thermostat for auto-shutoff.
the delonghi heater is light weight, has multiple settings, safety knock-over switch, thermostat and a remote.
therefore the heater tends to shut off (when in full-auto mode) before the room has reached the desired temperature, as the area close to the unit warms up enough to satisfy the thermostat quite
thermostat
easy to use, very nice thermostat readout, don't find this on many heaters!
the thermostat makes it easy to run the heater all night, keeping a comfortable temperature & the oscillating effect helps to spread the heat.
i've never had it shut off on me (when it wasn't in thermostat mode).
a big draw was the digital (readout) thermostat, timer, and oscillating functions.
pros: digital thermostat control, remote control, ceramic element, safety features, timer cons: no backlighting, temperature setting resets to default on turn off.
pros: digital thermostat control, remote control, ceramic element, safety features, timer cons: no backlighting, temperature setting resets to default on turn off. the bottom line:
- it has an automatic thermostat you can set.
- thermostat - the heater kicks on when the ambient temp around the heater is 2 degrees under the set temp.
i like the remote and the thermostat feature that shuts off when it reaches the set temp.
i bought this heater because i wanted to be able to control the temp in the room with the "programmable thermostat".
we had purchased the lasko mainly because of the thermostat option - worked great for about 2 months.
instead of an actual temperature based thermostat it has an analog dial, like the temp settings of the car heater.
has an energy saving mode- you set the adjustable thermostat, and when it reaches that temp, it reduces the heat by 30%.
although it doesn't have a thermostat so that you can actually tell what the room temperature is, you can set the thermostat to different settings.
the adjustable thermostat does work well.
i like its total quiet operation and have not had a problem with the thermostat.
the choice of opeating modes--lo, high, low-thermostatically controlled, and high-thermstatically controlled--offers me flexibility to meet varing conditions.
the digital thermostat and current temperature reading is helpful, but there seems to be a loose tolerance between what the temperature you set and what the actual temperature in the room
i have this heater (from bjs), and it runs well, but it's not exactly silent: in "hi" mode with the thermostat, it sometimes beeps five times in a row, slowly.
it's so bad i will continue to use the holmes heater on the high setting, turn the thermostat as low as possible, and move it physically further away.
it is odorless and silent (except a very quiet click when the thermostat goes on and off), easy to adjust and move around, and on its lowest setting (which i use exclusively), it is hot, but not too
excellent thermostat, good (not overwhelming) heat output - adequate for an average sized room...
we set it to the lowest energy setting ("$") and put the 'thermostat' knob pointing straight down (half power), and it works perfectly keeping his room warm while the heater itself isn't hot enough
another advantage to the heater is where the people in the home have different personal "thermostats".
i've already turned down the household thermostat and i'm on my way to saving money by using this comfy little heater.
i may have received a lemon but the heater stays on for a unreliable amount of time and it seems the safety thermostat kicks in and it shuts off.
