we keep it on a lower setting (1 '750w'/ 2 or 3 thermostat) and our small living room is more comfortable than we imagined possible.
i find the dial controls totally sufficient; when the room heats to your liking, you just turn the thermostat a bit and the heater holds that temp in the room.
the thermostatic control allows you to make fine adjustments so that with the two levels of power that the unit offers, it's fairly economical to operate.
i like the thermostat in it, it's just wonderful.
i love the fact that the auto thermostat keeps it comfortable in my living room.

you can adjust the direction of heat flow, heat output and the built-in thermostat allows for shutoff when the desired temperature is obtained and turns on again when needed.
also, there was no thermostat.
well, if the heater is really cold it does make a few popping noises when it starts heating up (which go away once it's warm) and there is a quiet clicking noise from the thermostat when the heater

the thermostat is not all that accurate, but keeps the temp within a few degrees of the setting.

yes, the thermostat doesn't quite regulate as well as the product description claims.
only downside was that it was slightly narrower than the manual thermostat that it replaced and required a little touchup painting.
i purchased this thermostat to control a cadet 63314 heater i installed in a cold bathroom in our house.
only thing i wish it had was a digital thermostatic control, but after a couple days of fiddling, you get just the right temperature and can leave it there, tweaking it if necessary.
second issue: as other reviews have noted, the thermostat seems to think the room is warmer than it is.
it also delays the heater from turning off itself too soon, since the heaters thermostat is also moving with the oscillating heater, sampling air from around it.

this space heater remote controlled, adjustable thermostat filled the requirements perfectly.

i have had to turn it on or off myself though, as i really doubt the "thermostat" really should be called that.
the thermostat doesn't wrok very well because it has to heat up a lot before it shuts off, then cool down a lot to come back on.
the on/off/heat settings switch, along with the thermostat switch, feel very solid for a ceramic heater this inexpensive.
i don't use the thermostat feature to control temp, so can't comment on it, and never use it unattended.
the thermostat is pretty much non-existant so don't get if "auto turn-off" is a big priority for you.
