it's important to note that when i put this heater in my basement, which is perpetually cold, it was unable to sufficiently heat the much larger space.

off from the rest of the house it's awesome, if you're in a bigger area, i'd go for a model with a fan that blows heat towards you like this one holmes energy-efficient heater fan - heh8001-u1.

my home office is in the basement and i much prefer to use this heater for 1 room instead of the central heating which heats the 1st floor and the basement.

this works pretty well in a basement room once it gets up to temperature - which is about one hour.
