we use the heater in our basement.
it puts out lots of heat and is energy efficient.
[$] depending on the expected energy savings i may purchase a second heater so i don't have to move one from room to room.
it's more than powerful enough as an under-desk heater.
if my wiring could tolerate the 2nd, more powerful setting it would probably work better, but the circuit breaker shuts it all off anytime i use that setting.
i purchased this item to heat a partially finished portion of my basement and it does a great job of warming the space.
i haven't evaluated the energy efficiency of this product, but i know it sure was cheaper that running my gas furnace all winter long.
also had a anti-defrost mode for the basement, when turn to the snow flake- turns it self on when it drops below 41 degrees.

pros: energy efficient, quiet cons: low heat output
we were looking for something a little more powerful than a standard, small space heater, as we needed some heat in our fairly large living room/dining room combined area.
But for an isolated bedroom-bath barely in the forced-air loop (w/ terribly inefficient windows also), this compact little beauty keeps things comfortable, if not "roaring fire" toasty.
This despite a bank of very inefficient windows.
