I plugged this unit into two different outlets in my home and it overloaded my circuit. It was the only thing plugged into the outlet. I'm glad I didn't leave it unattended. from Amazon.com I've had this heater for 2 to 4 years but have been frustrated by the on-board controls that only let you choose 70 or 75 degrees. I doubt the remote would let you choose something in between, but I never wanted to use the remote so I really don't know. Also, at the tail end of this last winter, the on-board controls didn't seem to work quite right anymore. from Amazon.com looked around for heaters and thought this one had a nice design and it fits our family needs. We have a young toddler who wants to touch everything right now)- heater doesn't get hot to the touch or at least the plastic around main frame doesn't.
