Pros: attractive, light weight and portable, quiet Cons: NO numeric thermostat (major bummer), does it work well??? The Bottom Line: Without a numeric (readout) thermostat, I would defer a recommendation for the HGW-308. As far as product it has worked wonderfully for us and just in time to give our gas furnace a break (from draining our wallet). from Amazon.com Other heaters like ceramic, shut off all together which spikes the amps on your fuse box. Also had a anti-defrost mode for the basement, when turn to the snow flake- turns it self on when it drops below 41 degrees. I thought the manual was pretty good, so not sure if the person that wrote a bad review bought a Soleus or another brand. This is the 2nd Soleus item I have bought and been happy with both. from Amazon.com i purchased this item to heat a partially finished portion of my basement and it does a great job of warming the space. from Homedepot.com it's really quiet (which my roommate likes), and it looks sharp. from Compactappliance.com i bought this for my bathroom because of the enhanced safety features. from Compactappliance.com i haven't evaluated the energy efficiency of this product, but i know it sure was cheaper that running my gas furnace all winter long. from Amazon.com
