Optimus H-4110 9-inch Dish Heater..... The housing is plastic, so it's not as strong as the ones in antique stores, but it serves me well. from Amazon.com I wanted have it every room like a bathroom and kitchen. But they are little bit too big for small area. I was looking for smaller Heat Dish and I found Optimus H-4110 9 inch Dish Heater. I expected they work the same as Presto Heat Dishes. from Amazon.com This heater is not for a large room. 8X10 is probably the most to expect. I have another heater that I used, but the noise from the fan got to me, hence I bought the Optimus. Another advantage is the long electrical cord. from Amazon.com 300 watts means it's the most economical heater on the planet, and now it's gone scarce on amazon. from Amazon.com this little thing is ideally suited as a desk or small area heater, but for it's low power consumption, it does put out a lot of heat towards what it's pointed at. from Amazon.com if you want to be heated from a heater that is 12 feet away, this is not the heater for you - but at less than 6 inches away, it is even too hot for comfort. from Amazon.com beware of light bulb heaters that claim to be more powerful and cheaper - the light bulb in those other heaters will burn out after a year and your heater will be garbage. from Amazon.com they love to lay in front of these but this one would only heat one cat at a time and it wouldn't cover me into the bargain. from Amazon.com yes, it has no thermostat, but is not a problem for me. from Amazon.com the outside temperature is 40 and my room is a very comfortable 70 and i will now set the heater to low setting. from Amazon.com
