The logs and flames are very realistic. I am extremely pleased with my fireplace. Since buying it I have been blessed with a house with a fireplace in the living room, so now I have the Aloha 5120 Fireplace in my bedroom! As I said before, I find this one...... from Target.com We bought this heater to help reduce our heating bills in the winter. We looked at different space heaters for several days, read all the reviews, etc... Based on the very positive reviews for the Aloha (particularly the one about heating a cabin) we decided to give it a shot. We were looking for something a little more powerful than a standard, small space heater, as we needed some heat in our fairly large living room/dining room combined area. from Amazon.com However, I've been told by the tenants that the landlord provides little to NO HEAT during the cold weather months. I wanted to be sure I was prepared. The Aloha 5120 BTU Home Hearth with Thermostat is classy looking, quickly heats a mid-size bedroom (with high ceilings) and performs nearly silently. Yes, the fire display feature is cool (a little cheesy actually), but I don't use it. from Amazon.com it isn't noisy, and it has everyone taking a second look to see if there is actually a fire burning! from Target.com it works well and is kind of a conversation piece -- the "fire" still looks electric (because it is) and it's bigger than i thought it would be (25" wide x 23" tall x 14" deep); however, on the from Target.com i have always loved the warmth and beauty of a fireplace, since my condo did not have one i bought this one, thinking in the back of my mind that it would be an "acceptable" substitute. from Target.com one caveat - though amazon is usually a good deal, the manufacturer, [...] sells it for twenty bucks cheaper. from Amazon.com it's pretty quiet. from Amazon.com the heater is very quaint and actually looks like a real fire. from Amazon.com yes, the fire display feature is cool (a little cheesy actually), but i don't use it. from Amazon.com
