Best Headphones for Monitor

for the price these studio monitors deliver the bacon.

soundstage 4/5 - for a studio monitor, the soundstage is very good.

but then again these are studio monitors they were meant for professional work.

ultimately, i learned what i really wanted in an inner ear monitor and the failures of the ue's led me to purchase the senn cx 500's.

the only all-around better headphones i've heard aren't headphones at all but in-ear monitors: the klipsch image x10.

i have a hd280 pro monitor set, a set of cx-300's and a set of shure se110's.

i have used $400 to $600 studio monitor earbuds that you can not tell the difference unless your a pro with equip.

that is what the klipsch image in ear monitors (iems) did for me.

don't be fooled by reviews suggesting that these monitors are less than perfect.

i bought the custom-3's for that extra bit of sound quality, and to use as in ear monitors for singing vocals.

it's not so bad that i won't use them for entertainment, it's just that they aren't accurate enough for monitoring recorded music.
