i will admit skullcandy buds have some positives such as come in a range of nice colors, are comfortable, and block out much ambient noise so one may set the volume to a lower setting.

however, they do not output low end frequencies very well, and while they reduce ambient noise, it feels/sounds like wearing earplugs.

bass is very good, and the rest of the sound range is probably on par with my ipod buds, but these do an excellent job of blocking out ambient noise as well.

the silicone covers also function like earplugs and do a good job of filtering out ambient noises and annoying bystanders.
