Best Over the Head Headphones for Cheap

i thought i knew jimi hendrix's albums by heart, but it was like listening to a new track with these on.

amps are great, but it's great not to need one as your mp3 portable or cd player will do rather nicely.

with music: i had trouble hearing any noise outside the music, it was almost completely silent...i could turn my ipod down to around 25% of max volume and could hear every instrument and then some.

overall, turning on the switch was the same as putting in earplugs, except that when you turn on your ipod it sounds a lot better.

in terms of quality, i can't really list anything technical but i've worn a lot of headphones and the quality from these whether you're listening to a 128mbps file on an ipod, a 320 file on an ipod

you won't see me walking around public with these on.

although they are very light and flexible, you can tell they are still built well and are farily sturdy.

i am able to accurately track my enemies without ever needing to see them, their footsteps work just fine ;).

they come with a nice case that you can even put you mp3 player in.

as for the the sound quality with an ipod (nano 3rd generation, nano 1st generation, touch 1st generation, video 5th generation are the ones i've tried it with) plugged in, i've had no issues.

i have an older model treadmill that is very noisy, with these on they reduced the noise level where i don't have to blast the volume of the sound system or the tv.

i was desperate for a good pair of noise canceling headphones, both for travel and for use when i'm using my treadmill.

i did find that when i was walking around, i could clearly hear my footsteps as thumps, even with the noise canceling off.

these look good on, travel in a compact case, are sturdy and made by an audio manufacture that knows what they are doing.

i operate farm machinery, and the sony earbuds i have been using with my mp3 player were uncomfortable and prone to being dislodged easily.

i tested these for music with an ipod nano and my stereo system.

i have them running through a cheap $20 behringer ha400 headphone amp w/ 4 outputs (id recommend and amp for these to get the full effect).

i hooked these up to my ipod and they are the loudest of anything that i've hooked up to it, including a number of higher-end buds.

also they come with 1/8" and 1/4" inch headphone jack/adaptor - so you can enjoy them straight out of the ipod or connect them to your audiophile headphone amp or your professional gear.

my only major gripe about the m50s is that the 'leatherette' ear padding's do promote sweaty ears, but they offer great isolation and minimal sound leakage.
