Best Over the Head Headphones for Job

i also plugged the phones into my mp3 player and did not hear any static.

i could not keep the headphone on for more than 2 hours at a stretch as it make you sweaty around the ears.

it is a good noise cancellation phone, especially it does not generate hiss between track as most of other noise cancellation headphones have.

the quality of the music and videos when i plugged it into my ipod video was awesome.

i thought i knew jimi hendrix's albums by heart, but it was like listening to a new track with these on.

amps are great, but it's great not to need one as your mp3 portable or cd player will do rather nicely.

with music: i had trouble hearing any noise outside the music, it was almost completely silent...i could turn my ipod down to around 25% of max volume and could hear every instrument and then some.

overall, turning on the switch was the same as putting in earplugs, except that when you turn on your ipod it sounds a lot better.

they come with a nice case that you can even put you mp3 player in.

as for the the sound quality with an ipod (nano 3rd generation, nano 1st generation, touch 1st generation, video 5th generation are the ones i've tried it with) plugged in, i've had no issues.

i have an older model treadmill that is very noisy, with these on they reduced the noise level where i don't have to blast the volume of the sound system or the tv.

i was desperate for a good pair of noise canceling headphones, both for travel and for use when i'm using my treadmill.

i have them running through a cheap $20 behringer ha400 headphone amp w/ 4 outputs (id recommend and amp for these to get the full effect).

i hooked these up to my ipod and they are the loudest of anything that i've hooked up to it, including a number of higher-end buds.

also they come with 1/8" and 1/4" inch headphone jack/adaptor - so you can enjoy them straight out of the ipod or connect them to your audiophile headphone amp or your professional gear.

my only major gripe about the m50s is that the 'leatherette' ear padding's do promote sweaty ears, but they offer great isolation and minimal sound leakage.

the phones work great with an unamped ipod or nicer amped source like a high end sound card with a high impedance headphone amp.

it seems to me that this is almost totally related to using these headphones with ipods or small portable cd/dvd players.

oh, they seem super sturdy and i've almost tossed them around a bit and them haven't cracked or made any sign of breaking.

these headphones also sound very well on my 8g walkman, without an amp.
