i use these headphones while i'm on my treadmill so i don't have to crank up the volume on the tv so loud my neighbors can hear.
comortable headphones, great for working out in the a.m.
you are then able to pretty much walk around your house without the cords bothering while you clean up or whatever.
there are wireless headphones that are made for portable devices such as mp3 and cd players.
i bought this product so my wife and i could workout while watching tv or listening to music.
the cuality of the sound is great and i can walk to other rooms with it without loosing that much sound.
the reception quality is good, and walking to different rooms, i did not loose reception.
also clean the ear peice as sweat builds up.
it seems like its running a high-pass filter on the soundwave because it simply destroys music.
even the free headphones that come with the ipod are better quality.
is beginning to distort quite a bit, the volume isn't as loud as it once was before, and the foam padding around the cups have seperated from the collection of mosture when using them while sweating.
the bottom line: a great headphone for someone looking for a high quality, detailed, comfortable headphone that has longevity, a reasonable price and a proven track record.
you can probably forget about using this headphone on your bicycle, or while jogging, or anything where you are moving around outside.
it's absolutely true these are an "industry standard", my favorite sighting is on one of the lord of the rings dvds were you can clearly see peter jackson sporting a pair of mdr 7506s while filming
black, which makes them look smaller than they actually are, so you won't look like an alien if you use them with your portable music player (beware that if mp3s are low quality you'll notice it, but
normally, i use a netmd walkman and a cd-player all the time.
you don't need a headphone amp with the mdr-v6s so it's easy to listen to your ipod, etc.
it's a testament to their quality that sports broadcasters, music producers, djs, and other professionals needing optimum sound quality continue to use these.
and when it comes to headphones, not only should they not color the sound, but they should be comfortable, so you can wear them for hours without developing sweaty ears or a headache.
they are not quite portable enough to wear while walking around the house, doing dishes, brushing your teeth, etc....i mean they work but it's kind of annoying.
a cardas ipod interconnect connects the laptop to the amplifier.
however, staccato music (think of fast metal riffing) is delivered on point without a "sludge" effect of notes running into each other.
grado rs1 (an ergonomic nightmare, and no benchmark for build quality, the grado succeeds in making even a lowly mp3 player sound exciting to listen to.
all in all these are wonderfully functional headphones with great sound and are sturdy enough to hold up to years of dj abuse.
i also like that it comes with a quarter inch adapter so i can use it in audio track mixing for my video!
they work out perfectly with digital weaknesses: it's too big for daily carry and the price is still a little high.
for example if you are running something with a couple aa batteries the sound tends to goto crap pretty fast.
it has worked out beautifully.
the original's foam padding is starting to flake off, and the yellow foam, itself, is exposed, after almost a decade-and-a-half of accumilated sweat (it still amazes me these things don't absolutely
plus, they are plenty loud with my philips expanium mp3 cd player.
they are comfortable, the buds that came with my mp3 hurt my ears and fell out all the time.
i had a pair of this style headphone that came with my cassette-walkman back in 1990.
and considering the fact that i listen to music and then generally shove my headphones and ipod into my backpack, it's saying a lot.
i use these headphones for running and i have never had a problem with sweat in the ear.
what's great about it:?they stay in nice and have fairly good sound quality what's not so great:?not all that sturdy "the sound is great compared to others i have had but they get a little
i bought it for my daughter because the ones that came with her ipod didn't stay in!
i give it only 4 stars because of the short cord...i work on aircraft, and keep my mp3 player in my pants pocket with the cord routed under my shirt to avoid snagging.
the little volume control on the cord is a nice feature but i don't use it all that much, because it takes about the same, if not more, effort than altering the volume on my ipod.
i have tried several different kinds of headphones for the gym and these are my favorite.
i can walk around my entire room while wearing it.
besides superb sound quality, the headphones also fit very nice on your ears and pretty sturdy.
made my ears sweaty from how big they are, and i roll them up and put them in my bag.
it's great for use with a computer but annoying with an mp3 player.
other thoughts: i have alot of uses for it computer, stereo, mp3 player, guitar amp, this is perfect since i live with roommates and i'm a late night person.
by me for my sister along with a sandisk 1gig mp3 player.
they may not be good for running or listening to anything
thoughts: go for a jog with these things on, i dare you.
but they are faux-leather and they make my ears sweat!
to hear the distortion on an mp3 versus a raw file.
Other reviewers may keep their headphones next to their digital tape decks and never use they with a portabable player as they walk down the street or ride a bike, but for those of us who wish to use
