"if you're a fan of the behind-the-head style -- it's great for working out or if you want bigger sound than earbuds but don't want to mess up your hair"
i was looking for nice pair of headphones to wear while at the gym and out running and these are amazing.
the cup type) allows excellent sound, but has the advantage of allowing you to hear a car come up from behind if you are jogging, etc.
other thoughts: can you get a better headphone for the gym at that price?
i tried a lot of different headphones for running (i run almost every day outside for 3-6 miles on average) and my previous favorite headphone was the pmx-60.
they produce a rich and full sound from my mp3 players - i
with only one cord from the mp3 player to the headphones,
however for compressed (mp3) music, only snobs would
i needed something for the gym and it worked to what i was
or audio books while working the garden or taking a walk.
I was looking for ''Street Style'' headphones for the gym, my main concerns were noise cancelling and leakage.
Summary: I was an avid user of the SONY MDR-G57G STREET STYLE SPORT HEADPHONES.
But I like bass heavy songs to work out to and I was constantly getting frustrated with the poor bass reproduction on these phones.
I bought these to replace my PMX 60s in my office, planning to take my PMX 60s to the gym with me.
Cons: I use these primarily for working out.
I owned the GR60 model, which is a great headset for the stereo, but too clunky for a portable like the ipod -- the cord is too long, and the headset too unwieldy for street walking.
They may not be ideal for heavy exercise in warm weather, but can be used in the gym without slipping.
But, until recently, I didn't know Grado made any outdoor mp3 type headphones.
I use the headphones everyday walking and riding the subway in NYC so there's something to be said about wear-and-tear, but never felt I abused the product.
For working out, I find that earbuds need to be adjusted fairly often, which is really annoying.
