I have tried several ear buds for under $100 including Esure 1 and Ultimate Ear. The JBL ear buds are very comfortable and with a little fiddling with the fit they have a far superior sound than the other ear buds I have tried. The cord does make noise when I run but if I just place the cord away from my body this is not a problem. from Amazon.com The cord is the most sensitive near the plug, so wrapping it with some duct tape prolongs the life significantly. Right now I am using a pair of these, with a pair of cheap ones in reserve in case I need to send these back for replacement. JBL has been very reasonable in the past with returns from Amazon.com I have only had these earphones for a few days but am rather impressed at the sound that emits from these 'portable speakers.' The accompanying kit is rather nice and includes multiple adapters and various inserts for comfort/listening pleasure. If your looking for headphones in the sub fifty dollar range, I think you will be pleasantly surprised at what these have to offer. from Amazon.com JBL 220's are by far one of the BEST little earbuds you can buy for the price! So I am now using JVC FX66 (until I can justifiably try or buy the new FXC50 or FXC70 models) for riding the bus and train but use my Bose in the office and at home where the surrounding noise is less and hearing loved ones or other office staff is important. The JBL's are going to be given away or used by my wife if she likes them.
