Forget jogging. The cord to the left earbud is much shorter than the right, so any tension on the cord is only felt in one ear. Sennheiser tried making the mic and pushbutton more bullet shaped, but it still constantly catches on shirt collars, pockets, seatbelts, lanyards, etc. and creates loud noise in your left ear, pulls your earbud loose, or both.
First things first, make sure you are ordering the right headset. These fit a 3.5 mm jack, NOT the old 2.5 mm that you would find in most other/older phones. Easy way to test if you're not sure, take an iPod headset (or any headset you use for a mp3 or CD player), and see if it fits.
The MM50 IP's were an immediate disappointment as soon as I plugged them in, and I'm totally perplexed by the positive reviews here. - The sound quality is tinny and weak - too much treble compared even to my stock Apple iPhone 3Gs headphones.
I wasn't expecting much, I really wasn't. I purchased these mainly as a real replacement for my 2nd set of dying Apple stock earbuds. I actually had a set of Skullcandy FMJ (iPhone edition) in my hand while standing in the aisle of a large discount retailer (sorry Amazon!). I just happened to take one last look around and noticed that Sennehiser also had a solution for me.
I bought the Sennheiser phones to replace the ear buds that came with my iPhone 3Gs. These are a world of difference.
I had a set of Vmoda's that (like other's) shorted out and died. I was looking for a replacement with good bass, good sound deadening qualities and a good, tight fit. The Sennheiser MM50s are GREAT. They work perfectly with the iPhone, the inline mic is very good and I actually prefer it to the Bluetooth in the car.
I don't think that it's me but I can't hear out of these! I can't hear in the car if I have a window open. I also took them on my jet ski and had my iphone volume all the way up and the music streaming on Pandora was terrible sound quality. I'm glad that were cheap!
The earbuds that came with my iPhone 3gs would distort pretty badly on bass-heavy music (dubstep, drum & bass) with the EQ set to "Bass Booster" or "Deep". No surprise, really.
I purchased these because I've owned Sennheiser products in the past and I've always been very impressed with what Sennheiser offers. First off these do work as advertised and these do work very well with the iphone.
In terms of sound, this sennheiser are a 7/10. At first, the sound was horrible.
