This is my first Sennheiser product and I must say, "what have I been missing on?" I've gotten less expensive Sony earbuds and I thought those sound great, but these CX400's blow those out of the water. I'm no audiophile but I mainly hear very clear sound with efficient bass. from Amazon.com I am also finding wearing a headphone to be a bit annoying especially when outside of home. While I love the sound of the Grados, I wanted something that would be a good substitute for other everyday usage. The CX400 were relatively good value when compared to SkullCandy, which seems mostly aesthetics focused. The Sennheiser CX 400 are seriously great, I use them with my Ipod on the bus/subway and since they are ear buds the volumn is now much lower.
