if you're sitting still it doesn't happen, but as soon as you jostle the wires or start to walk , you can hear every tap and thumb on the wires.

as far as the noise canceling goes, with the headphones alone in your ear it calcels out some sound but you can still hear but as soon as you start playing a song, you cant hear anything but the music

they do a better job of blocking outside noises than earbuds do, but over-ear headphones do it better even if they don't have the noise-cancellation features.

i live in japan and those 13hr flights to and from the states are always rough but at least i'll have a lot more fun now with these and with another trip coming up in a month i hope it can drown out
