These headphones sound decent and the bass boost is nice. I compared these Coby CV200s to pair of Beringer HPX2000 headphones. OK you really notice the Coby does indeed have more bass but the HPX2000s have a very lively crisp upper mid-range and treble sound. from Amazon.com Bought my first pair a couple of years ago. The Headphones work great! from Amazon.com When my CV-320's crapped the bed, I took a visit to FYE to get some new ones only to find they didn't carry the 320's, so thinking, "it's Coby, the last pair was good" I bought them only to find that I hated them. Not only was the volume level not even close to that of the 320's, but after about 20-30 minutes, my ears hurt. from Amazon.com So, as I was scanning the rack I happened to come upon these noise-canceling headphones for no more than $10. I was amazed that a normally expensive market (a really high quality pair by a bigger name like Sony can run you out of $50) could offer a pair of headphones so cheap, so I was a bit wary. But, since there were no others I was interested in, I purchased them, praying that they would be as good as my last pair (which were those ear clips, also made by Coby). Apparently, my prayers were answered, for those headphones were some of the best I've ever owned. from Amazon.com okay the headphones are great, people say they last awile but they only lasted me up to half a year before i had to cut them open and fix electrical break "on 2 different pairs i've owned" but hey for [...] it was worth it pricewise. also on the part where they have good base, they really do, after my pair broke i got a [...] pair of noise cancelling and they sounded like they had good base it low volumes, but it was purely emulated, turn the volume up and it sounded very distorted and bad, the coby's sound GREAT turned up, i put a 4watt amp(coby's are only rated max 2watt) on my coby's all the way up and they didn't distort at all, they where still crisp, and they where vibrating from the TRUE bass that was comming out :) from Amazon.com i bought a pair of these 2 years ago because they were cheap. they worked great till i accidently broke them, then i went out and bought a 50 dollar pair of sonys to replace them thinking they would have to sound better than a 12 dollar pair of generic coby's. only i found out the sonys sounded like crap compared to the cobys, luckily i found out i could still buy the cobys i bought 4 pairs on sale for 9 dollars a piece and still came out cheaper than the sonys only now i have good sounding headphones with all the power i need and 3 spares. from Amazon.com I bought these a year ago as a joke, because Coby products are usually a joke, but not a very funny one.
