Great sound stage, tight lows and clear highs. Somewhat on the "bass" heavy side, but all sound great. from Amazon.com I have actually re-evaluated how I feel about these earphones. Initially, I did not like the way that they sounded or how they felt in my ears. I have large ear canals. I have to wear the largest set of tips on every earphone that I have worn. from Amazon.com I can not say enough good things about these headphones, I will agree that the interchangeable earpieces were not the most comfortable for me but that's the thing, They are interchangeable not only with what comes with the generic 3 sizes in the box but also with other brands. I had a blown pair of headphones with earpieces I preferred and they fit on the denons no problem. from Amazon.com I was on a two week long search for the earphone that fit me best. I started with the Bose Triports which had good base but did not create a nice seal like the Denons do or even come close to the sound quality. I was about to pull the trigger on the V-Moda first and then the Sennheiser CX300 (last week), but then something told me to look again. from Amazon.com the plastic tips on the Denons are (as far as i can tell) the same as on the Sony MDR-EX51/71 series.
