in places like airplanes or at the gym running on the treadmill/elliptical where i previously had to have my ipod volume up to 60-70% of max, i now have it at about 40%.

it provides excellent bass response on bass-heavy tracks, but the effect is a little overpowering with more subtle music, such as solo piano or classical.

once that was done the sound was fantastic, i listened to some old tracks on my ipod, it was a complete rediscovery of music that i thought i knew well!

although i found them to work, their performance depended on a good seal on/around the ear, the active nc affected what the music sounded like (it made it sound flat), and my mp3 (sansa click) volume

i use them when i am recording tracks and it works great with mixing.

it rest on your outer ear so it will fall out if you run or doing exercises.this is a great earphones if you plan to listen to alot of ipod but i dont recommend it for intense activity.
