Looking for more power from your graphics card? Whether you need better performance for your gaming, want to connect your television to your desktop or need to run powerful graphic editing software, there are few things to look for when making your choice.
Display Interface
Probably the most imporant feature of the graphics card is the display interface. There are two basic connections to your monitor: DVI or VGA. DVI is a digital input with a completely digital signal, and VGA is an analog signal. DVI isn't standard on all monitors, but it provides a better image.
Installed Memory
Depending on which programs you're running on your PC, the amount of installed memory you need will fluctuate. The installed memory allows the graphics card to work without borrowing from your system RAM, which allows complex 3D graphics and gaming to process much faster, without ghosting. The more the better, so don't be afraid to spend up if you can afford it.
Analog Video Interface, HDMI and Video Out
S-Video and HDMI are some of the ways you can connect your PC to your television set. HDMI allows you to connect with HD LCD TVs, bringing the picture from your PC to the TV. This is a great feature if you want to use your PC as a media center for movie watching, slide shows, and group gaming.
