this was my very first video card installation and it went smoothly.
it works, is well made, was instantly recognized by vista, and appears to be an upgrade from the low-end video card that originally came with my dell e520.
prosexcellent card and very good price
value:
prosworks in my new vostro 220 mini tower with 300 watts power supply :)
let me start with the fact that i haven't purchased a video card in 10 years, and i struggled with this item, and had a hard time deciding if it would be worth it to throw another $50 or so and get a
the lower power draw and quiet nature of this card are very good.
good performance for video processing and light gaming
this is a nice card for those looking for good video performance without having to upgrade your power supply.
this card plays in a great way games like pes 2009, gta vi, fallout 3, even crysis not at max details, but looks and plays great!
for this treo veteran -- dating back to when it was still handspring -- the treo pro is good and bad news.
my business is very microsoft-centric, as we use and develop software for telecommunications.
better call volume.
prosfast processor, multitasking capabilities, reliable wi-fi & bluetooth connections, very functional gps.
very good!!!!
also task bar is not visible on the secondary/tertiary screens.
so far, i've been pleased.
i have two external monitors connected to my x300, one using the vga port and one using the evga, and the evga uv plus is noticeably slower.
i have a thinkpad laptop running vista, and the monitor keeps freezing the computer hard -- so much so the mouse will take minutes to respond to movement.
cons: windows are slightly laggy when you move them around fast but video runs great.
i had the geek squad at best basically just put the card in, and my vista machine installed it's own drivers.
"this card, as stated by another reviewer, is very easily overclockable while it maintains stable temperatures.
had to up grade video card, runs fear and crysis on much higher detail now.
"i've had this graphics card for 3-4 months.
i brought this video card to replace a pair of nvidia 7950gtx, it does not disappoint it's about 10% faster than my previous cards, it really makes my games look good at a higher resolution.
the card runs hot when under heavy loads but as long as you have a well ventilated case, there should be no problem.
crysis gave me some fits until i patched crysis, then it sang with everything on very high and aa on max.just sick.
first i bought a regular gtx 280 and it was very good.
after i played with this card on my 3ghz core2duo (e8650) 4gb vista 64 rig and enjoyed the boost, i still felt there was something holding we back from ultimate shredness.
also, it's great for vista.
very tight fit!
i've had no heat problems or lagging at all, and i run everything maxed out.
what's not so great:?turned my pc into a space heater, very big
pros: excellent 3d rendering, high frame rates, quiet cooling, 3-way sli,?very?cool?looking
it's awesome -- you'll have some immense power at your disposal with this video board.
i've been using this card for a week now, so far so good.
if you are looking for better value look hard at a 4870 with 1gb of vram, that is why this card review doesn't get 5 stars its bang for the buck in comparison to the 4870 1gb (not the x2) is just not
i can make crysis run 1920 x 1200 with settings on very high and aa set to 4x with frames of about 37.
i f there was a complaint, it would have to be that these cards are not compatible with vista.
i chose this card for my new pc build, and i'm very pleased with my decision.
it's a matter of perspective as i upgraded from a very old computer (almost 5 years).
i am seeing much better framerates in cod4, world in conflict and crysisoverall i am very happy with this purchase.
only downside is this card is very very hot.
i really encourage everybody to not think it twice, excellent video card for the price.
i just got a pci system fan exhaust blower for only $3, and placed this right under the video card and it keeps the high temps at bay...
plus, as others mentioned, it came with cod 4 full version.
we have 4 of these working (3 winxp, 1 vista) and they work very well.
i use this product with a vista x64 service pack 1 operating system on a toshiba laptop.
video's from the internet run smoothly.
the evga uv plus+ uv-12 device worked directly out of the box, with no issues on windows vista business 32-bit on a lenovo t61 laptop.
quite well with world of warcraft 3.02 with high graphics settings while raiding.pretty much the only reason i gave this a 4 for installation, is that the variable fan speed is not quite up to par.
what's great about it:?very fast card
"i went to the best buy in salem, nh to purchase this graphic card and when i got home and pulled it out the box the card looked nothing like what they have on the website and after my dislike i
if you have a way of plugging the fan into another fan control then you might be able to adjust it to lower speeds for bearable volumes..
"this graphics card is very powerful, running all my games maxed out, and using ati overdrive software keeping temp's below 50.c, however that said, there are some serious driver/compatability
recently purchased the sapphire 3850 to replace my burned up video card for my 2004 custom built tower.
this is a very good video card for your last agp upgrade.
it wasn't hard but it was daunting and very annoying.
easy to install and set up despite vista.
very smooth animation, incredible 3d effects, easy install.
i got this ati card about a week ago and i am very happy with it.
graphically the card works very well, however, the fan has been an issue.
this was the best money i've spent on this particular mac.
the picture on my monitor is a lot sharper now than with the original video card.
also i've had some problems with pny in the past so i tend to stay away from them.
i just got this card, and is amazing, my previous one was an ati 2400 hd pro, and played prince of persia (2008) only in low settings with that card; but with the 9500 gt i can put the settings on
great ati card, and very cheap for 99$
wife has a radeon 3450 in hers which shows (granted, 30 browsers in vista64) 40% activity and 48 degree temperature.
system specs: vista 64 ultimate, amd phenom 9850, asus m3a78, 8 gb ocz plat ddr2 1066, 2tb hdd (wd blacks), sapphire radeon 4830, hd audio, ocz 600 psupply, coolermaster cm690 case w/6 x 120mm fans
better make sure your power supply (including wires) can support this beast of a video card.
a very expensive video card, and a good choice if you only want a single card solution.
gamers, video editors, game creators!
the card installed easily and windows vista downloaded drivers for it automatically.
it works well in vista 64 bit, no driver issues or instability to report.
pny vcg96512gxeb verto geforce 9600gt 512mb ddr3 dvi + dvi + hdtv/s-video outputs pci-e 2.0 graphics card- retail does everything as advertised and more.
pny vcg96512gxeb verto geforce 9600gt 512mb ddr3 dvi + dvi + hdtv/s-video outputs pci-e 2.0 graphics card- retail
i got this card expecting it to have a temperature sensor which would vary the fan speed according to how much demand you're putting on the gpu.
runs all other games at very high settings.
if you've got two pci-e slots and the sli bridge go for it.
what's great about it:?i went from an intergrated video mother board to this card and i love it.
but i still love it, and when i started playing games like wow, and call of duty, i figured my machine could grind it with a better video card and some more ram.
"i received this video card pre-installed in my computer and was stunned with the quality difference from a standard in-board graphics card.
"i've never had so much trouble installing a computer component in my life.
what's great about it:?um...dvi to vga adapter is included
