then i moved it to the new system and found all the games i play (wic, sins, flatout uc,tf2) with settings all the way up and frame rates still in the 35-40 fps range cons: the card is tall due
the card is awsome, best video card for the money.video qualolity on this card is the best i have ever seen in a long time.if the caracters were crying (in the game) you would see it a good distance
the card also looks like if you tried to crossfire one of the copper heat pipes would get in the way, but i would ask someone who tried to crossfire it first before taking my word on it.
from nvidia to ati, uninstall the drivers from the control panel and then run driver cleaner pro in safe mode to get rid of crumbs left behind.i am running vista ultimate 64-bit so it is compatible.
other thoughts: i use this to play a very old flight sim - falcon4.0 - this card is still ready by the software and allows the game to be played with imporoved stability and frame rates, even in the
i don't play many graphic intensive games but i did feel the need to install crysis just to see how it would run at max settings.
this card is magnificent, with the new catalyst drivers thus baby runs any new generation game with ease, paired with my new core i7 920 it is more than enough to run crysis at max settings.
and yes its only for braging rights to my friends because with this card it plays all games on my 24' monitor at max settings( flawless) and anyone that says otherwise is a fanboy or just staight
wow a beast very fast card raise up the fan speed to 100% and the card will run very cool and smooth i run it at (1920-1080) full hd its super fast and cool my card will never go above 45c it has a
wow, this has to be the best card i've ever got!, i was pretty excited to recieve since the day i bought it.
i game with this card and i put everything on high it will still run around 100 fps.
of course you can hear it when the card's fan is maxed out, but i haven't encountered that in a game yet.this card came preconfigured to the superclocked version's settings of 626/2106.
instead, touched the top of the card and it was *hot* even idling in the vista desktop.
a must get this card will keep you busy for todays and future generation games for a long time.
i upgraded from a x1900xt card and wow i noticed a big difference.
gaming at 1920 x 1200 is challenging for just about any card (now i said just about, gtx 295s are in a league of their own) and it does all games flawlessly with a few exceptions.
never had an ati card before and this card laughs at every game i throw at it.
the card stays cool, quiet, and plays every game i throw at it on high settings at 1680x1050.
other thoughts: for the price this card is unbeatable, with the rest of my system it destroys any game i've played.
256-bit (second card on the way)windows vista ultimate sp1 64-bitraidmax smilodon atx-612wb black casecorsair cmpsu-650tx 650w atx12v p/s (will see if it can handle second vidcard)samsung dvd r/w
it is a good buy for its price and it runs call of duty world at war on max just fine.
very good price/performance.got free shipping, free game and free 3dmark vantage cant beat it!
i rather like this one over hd4850 because it offers the same or better performance, better driver compatibility for gaming and less software installation hassles.
with a free amazing game!the boxing was absolutely stunning (bit of a design nerd)along with the graphics card.2 dvi cons: no hdmii get opengl rendering errors while working in after effects
other thoughts: my system is:msi-7093 mainboard1.9 ghz amd 64 3200+ single core1 gb ddr1 400 ramhec power-x 600w psumy processor speed is a little on the low side, haha.the graphics on games run
soon to try the cod game that came with the card.
you just want to replace your no name gpu then this is a great deal on a great graphics card, but if you are looking for more power for your "new" gaming rig you might be happier with something else.
it works well with all of my games and 3d art programs.
i primarily bought this card to play world of warcraft and thus far, i have been impressed.
installed in a gaming computer for a co-worker, runs wow for him on slightly less than max settings at 50-60 fps.
do you want to buy a card thats on the top of the gaming market, and breaking the boundary into the enthusiast market?
under a buck for this card and a free game.
i hope to do a little gaming with it.
so far plays world in conflict at highest settings and anti-aisling, which this game is pretty demanding for an rts.
usually runs games 35-40+ fps 1080p cons: when i engage aa or as filtering, things start slowing down pretty bad.
nvidia cons: -- not a one so far -- other thoughts: i haven't done any gaming with this card but it works through solid works 2009 and other engineering intensive programs with ease
my monitor only supports up to 1600*1200, but i can't find a game to throw at this card that even chokes it up.
this card can play every game i throw at it including gta-iv and crysis at good detail settings.
my vista graphics score was capped at 5.9 previous, so this card did not change it.
it runs every game i play very, very well.
the card works stable and quiet, all my games play at max res.
it runs all of my games on high-very high at 1680x1050 without a sweat.
overall, extremely happy so far with it's stability, quiet and cool operation and it's ability to run pretty high-end games such as crysis, far cry 2 and fear 2 at high res's with decent fps.
and, i wish they'd bundled it with a better game.
game wise i would say you gain about 15 to 20% in performance, that is in maximum fps.
it's hard to compare my old system and video card to the rig i have now but my frame rates went through the roof in all the games i used to play when i moved up to the gtx260.
i moved from an ati x1300 pro to this.i run the card on 1900x1080 hdmi with maxed out settings on games like cod4 and cod5(haven't tested it out on crysis yet).
this is the evga gtx 216 core 216 "perfect video card for my gaming pc" ,because is better it's 216 processing cores, 16 more than the regular gtx 260,
this card is playing assassin's creen, cod-waw, left4dead, and any other game i throw at it at full graphics settings without so much as a hicup.
i wasn't expecting much of a performance upgrade, but wow.....for the price this card far exceeded expectations.
mine runs fine on 32-bit linux ubuntu; have only tried one game under linux, (fighter ace) and it ran okay, just not as good as xp.satisfied enough with this card to order another for sli; hard to
this card made my vista 3d benchmark score go from 4.7 to 5.2 not shabby cons: not fast enough for crysis full screen, but at least it's a dx10 card.
i use it for general office, e-mail, etc as well as heavy graphics editing with adobe cs3 (mostly photoshop and illustrator) and gaming.
i put this in and it plays team fortress 2 at ~60 fps or more all the time, handles crysis well on medium with even some other settings turned up to very high.
great card, features, price, perforance, have gor 5.2 in windows vista index experience becauuse of 3d and gaming.
on top of being a pretty high end graphic cards it runs all games perfectly.
that's what the giant fan is for :) other thoughts: i just started a new gaming rig, and built it around this card and a core2quad processor.
i recently built an additional pc, my previous pc had crossfire hd 3870's and this new pc only has the hd 4870 - honestly i do not notice a performance difference except to say that (obviously) when
all games i've thrown at it run fantastically, especially farcry 2, and even at max settings at 1920x1200 resolution.
chews up every game i throw at it and spits out the pieces without ocing.
it can be set up crossfire with another card.
if you play games at 1920x1080 this is for you.
well no free game.
aera 51 black suite game will pause for afew sec.
allows me to run my games full settings at 1680x1050 with anti aliasing set to the max on almost all games.
stock 3.16ghz, 4gb 1066 ddr2 kingston ram, nvidia akimbo 9800 gt 1gb) to see how well it would work with my gaming setup:ran surprisingly well on valve multiplayer games such as left 4 dead and tf2.
and you're good to go.i tried the card with valve games such as counterstrike and at first my fps was capped at 60 -- i turned vsync off, anti-aliasing off, monitor refresh rate at 75 and now i get
3) it's relatively quiet - it is only at its loudest (which isn't that loud, anyway) if you're running some graphics-intensive game.
other thoughts: there isn't a game i've tried yet that this card cannot handle.
but it runs flawlessly and makes a huge difference in game and overall cpu performance.
i buy this card for my new pc and it's really strong and good for my gaming experience, i run a world of warcraft wrath of the lich king a full capacity and the graphics card didn't fell it xdd, so
i have them in crossfire and i'm pleased with how it works not ground breaking in crysis but all my other game play easily at max settings with very good fps bioshock, call of duty four, tomb raider
he has the same rig as i do all asus junk i run crossfire he runs single i run single on my htpc nothing "nothing" comes close to this card!
attempted a 3rd but the card had to be rma'd due to bad fan ...and i lost interest in trying 3 - 4 way crossfire.
period if your a gamer you won,t be disapponted with this now budget card!i had these cards in 3 of my machines with nothing but great results!
this is a cheap affordable product that brings anything you need, i was skeptical about the card, but after installing looking at some hd videos and games i was blown away, this card is perfect if
in way is this a cutting edge card, but it will average 30 fps on most game on max settings.
well this card is a great deal, its not the best one out there but for the price and performance it is a very goood deal, gaming and lots more can be done with this evga
with this card, a core 2 duo wolfdale, and 2 gigs of ram i'm now playing wow with the graphics settings maxed at 1024x768 and it runs very smooth.
it plays all of my pc games with the settings maxed out.
other thoughts: i've installed this card in my new gaming rig, the card is enormous, and the heatsink and fan cover one of the pcie slots in on my motherboard, but i have a full atx board, so it's
without the converter however, the card ran a very stable 32bit coloring ratio.even under windows 7 beta and windows vista x32, the drivers were very stable and never faulted, unlike some other
normally high graphic games take what ram is on the card plus whats on the motherboard.
it's a great deal, gets a 5.7 for gaming graphics in vista windows experience index, and does amazingly well in 3dmark.
readily recognized by vista 64.
runs all my games maxed out except left for dead but the graphics are still amazing on idle it runs around 38c great looks and love the xfx imprint on it.
it looks cool and plays all the games i through at.
lifetime warranty cons: none other thoughts: i put the fan at 100%(very loud) and the card never goes above 45c loadi'm thinking about buying another for some 3x crossfire action!
while i was testing his system i did try overclocking using the catalyst drivers (9.2), but it glitching after i installed windows vista 64 bit.
great fps for most games on maxed out settings.
