several benchmarks previously showed my 8800gts were the bottleneck in games in my system.i plan to add a 2nd 280 soon and see where it takes me.the single card is quieter than my previous sli,
i brought this video card to replace a pair of nvidia 7950gtx, it does not disappoint it's about 10% faster than my previous cards, it really makes my games look good at a higher resolution.
you can read all the reviews you want about frame rates and power consumption but, until you power it up and run your games you won’t know what it really is like.
it will run all games on highest settings with a smooth outcome.
so far i can play every game at the highest graphic settings with 40+ fps.
no real cons, but my flight sim x does get artifacting with this card....
kicked it real hard!on most of my games i couldn't max out everything with the 8800, usually just a few things.
the card plays any game on the market with ease and at a respectable 40fps on very high settings.
no problem running crysis at very high setting @1920*1200, no studders, using vista x64.very quiet card, can not here the fans over the nomal case fans in the antec 900.
you can run a 3 way sli of these cards and blow away a 4 gpu 4870x2 crossfire rig no problem...
this card plays all games currently out, with the eye candy, and it does it well.
not be noticeable.even if you are running at extremely high-resolutions with the highest possible quality the gains from the 216 wouldn't make the difference between a playable and unplayable game.
ive played mirrors edge, fallout 3, crysis, wow (120fps easy), oblivion (with many graphic mods to increase the looks and still had over 70fps at all times) on all max setting without any issues.
for the price, i'm very happy to say i've been able to max out every game i've thrown at it.
it runs all my games really smooth and no more frame drops on the newer games.
age of conan and crysis both run great on this card.
pros: i've had this second h?oc for about 2 months anyhow 200 series scales great in sli, i'm going tri for the first time in the next week or two, gaming fps in tri does really well for the 280.
pros: runs excellent and can take any game you throw at it.
pros: with these new drivers for physx on the nvidia cards, wow!!
