runs perfectly and plays games like oblivion and fallout 3 @ 50-60fps @ 1280x768 res with high settings and 4x aa.the card easily overclocks to 765mhz core/500mhz memory and gets a huge performance
i don't plan to use it for much else, but i did manage to play some source games at decent resolutions and framerates with this card and i was impressed.one thing i love is that this card has it's
profile card* low cost* low power - runs great on 250 ps* low noise - runs very quiet especially after updating the drivers from the website.it took my vista gaming graphics from 4.something to 5.3.
plays all my games (wow, lotro etc.
is perfect for htpc/hd and for midline gaming peformance.
mine runs fine on 32-bit linux ubuntu; have only tried one game under linux, (fighter ace) and it ran okay, just not as good as xp.satisfied enough with this card to order another for sli; hard to
this card made my vista 3d benchmark score go from 4.7 to 5.2 not shabby cons: not fast enough for crysis full screen, but at least it's a dx10 card.
i use it for general office, e-mail, etc as well as heavy graphics editing with adobe cs3 (mostly photoshop and illustrator) and gaming.
i put this in and it plays team fortress 2 at ~60 fps or more all the time, handles crysis well on medium with even some other settings turned up to very high.
great card, features, price, perforance, have gor 5.2 in windows vista index experience becauuse of 3d and gaming.
i didn't buy it for a gaming system, just for the wife's work system.
the customer wont be using it for games like this anyway.
i tried firing up some old games that i knew performed very well on my computer, but this card performed just under par.
forget it for current games.
if your looking for a strong gaming card, i'd advise going with a faster and stronger card.
other thoughts: it isnt a true gaming card.
really got it to play age of conan, and it does that just fine.
it is very quiet as advertised, i would suggest this to anyone who plays video games every once in a while.
personally i suggest not using the vga installation disc provided on purchase other thoughts: i can play world of warcraft on it all ultra graphics no lag know that is pretty awesome!!
i don't know how well it would work for a gaming rig, but for a linux rig, it works awesome.
runs dual monitors and games great, cannot beat it for the price!!!!!!!
some of the newer games would not perform properly with the old card.
it brought my video ranking to 3.0 making my computer a respectable gaming system even with a single core processor.
i don't play video games that apparently require a much more expensive video card.
i recently updated my pentium 4 based system to vista and although it was ok, it wasn't exactly fast.
