then i moved it to the new system and found all the games i play (wic, sins, flatout uc,tf2) with settings all the way up and frame rates still in the 35-40 fps range cons: the card is tall due
the card is awsome, best video card for the money.video qualolity on this card is the best i have ever seen in a long time.if the caracters were crying (in the game) you would see it a good distance
the card also looks like if you tried to crossfire one of the copper heat pipes would get in the way, but i would ask someone who tried to crossfire it first before taking my word on it.
from nvidia to ati, uninstall the drivers from the control panel and then run driver cleaner pro in safe mode to get rid of crumbs left behind.i am running vista ultimate 64-bit so it is compatible.
other thoughts: i use this to play a very old flight sim - falcon4.0 - this card is still ready by the software and allows the game to be played with imporoved stability and frame rates, even in the
as it is not a strong gaming card the power consumption is much less.
as for speed, it's good enough to run most games.
other thoughts: have not tried any hard-core 3d gaming/rendering with this card, since i'm running less than the recommended power...
added bonus it handles games very well at medium to high settings depending on the game.
i haven't played any games on it yet, but does all of my video rendering very well and fast.
do you want to buy a card thats on the top of the gaming market, and breaking the boundary into the enthusiast market?
under a buck for this card and a free game.
i hope to do a little gaming with it.
so far plays world in conflict at highest settings and anti-aisling, which this game is pretty demanding for an rts.
usually runs games 35-40+ fps 1080p cons: when i engage aa or as filtering, things start slowing down pretty bad.
stock 3.16ghz, 4gb 1066 ddr2 kingston ram, nvidia akimbo 9800 gt 1gb) to see how well it would work with my gaming setup:ran surprisingly well on valve multiplayer games such as left 4 dead and tf2.
and you're good to go.i tried the card with valve games such as counterstrike and at first my fps was capped at 60 -- i turned vsync off, anti-aliasing off, monitor refresh rate at 75 and now i get
3) it's relatively quiet - it is only at its loudest (which isn't that loud, anyway) if you're running some graphics-intensive game.
other thoughts: there isn't a game i've tried yet that this card cannot handle.
but it runs flawlessly and makes a huge difference in game and overall cpu performance.
has an issue with wow where it crashes vista when in windowed mode, but this is a driver issue, not a card issue and will soon be resolved.
it blows any game thrown at it, crysis, cod4, you name it.
if you don't you will get lines in games and can't run 3dmark06 other thoughts: i think it's the 2 gb making you bring down the clocks abit compared to the 4870...the graphics are beautiful...i
other thoughts: you want the fastest card with the best drivers out...buy this card....i will soon crossfirex this ...
corsair xms2 dhx 4gb (2 x 2gb) 240-pin ddr2 sdram ddr2 800 (pc2 6400) it was clicking along at 419 fps just out of the box no tweaking or overclocking wow i just set there an marveled at this thing.
can run graphic intensive games on it.
i have this in an older machine of mine and it runs wow at 1900x1200 surprisingly well - 25 fps in crowded dalaran, 45-60 in the less populated, older cities.
i have tested many budget cards only this run,s like a good game card not a budget card!
it looks great and allows me to run everquest ii in the highest quality setting.
it's cheap, reasonably fast and does well with recent games.
other thoughts: it isnt a true gaming card.
really got it to play age of conan, and it does that just fine.
it is very quiet as advertised, i would suggest this to anyone who plays video games every once in a while.
personally i suggest not using the vga installation disc provided on purchase other thoughts: i can play world of warcraft on it all ultra graphics no lag know that is pretty awesome!!
i don't know how well it would work for a gaming rig, but for a linux rig, it works awesome.
this card is not supposed to be a professional gaming card, you payed ~$45 for it.
list of games i have play with no lag/choppynessgarry's mod (high)counterstrike source (high)crysis (medium no lag at all) have not tried highleft 4 dead (high runs like a pro) command and conquer
other thoughts: if you are not a game junkie but would like some decent graphics power on a nice low budget, then get this card.
for what he was using it for its great, definitely not for gaming.
it handled all the games that i threw at it smoothly and it handles vista extremly well.
