i don't play many graphic intensive games but i did feel the need to install crysis just to see how it would run at max settings.
this card is magnificent, with the new catalyst drivers thus baby runs any new generation game with ease, paired with my new core i7 920 it is more than enough to run crysis at max settings.
and yes its only for braging rights to my friends because with this card it plays all games on my 24' monitor at max settings( flawless) and anyone that says otherwise is a fanboy or just staight

wow, this has to be the best card i've ever got!, i was pretty excited to recieve since the day i bought it.
it is nice sense there are a number of games out there that support dx 10.1 cons: no cons i can think of.
crysis is the only game i own that even begins to tax this monster of a card.
that would be just a compatability issue with my computer screen other thoughts: this card works pretty well as a space heater when you are running some of the graphic intense games.
i purchased this card for an all new gaming box to play directx 10 enabled games on micro$oft vista.
other thoughts: great card stable in both windows 7 and vista 64 with 9.5 drivers.
i came from a x800xt and the diference is so far away that the first time that i play games with this card it was jaw drooping im really happy with it, best decision in a long time all gaming
you know that if a card can run crysis on high settings with anti aliasing then you know it can run any other game maxed or near maxed out settings.
this a in my opinion a very good upgrade if your system will tolerate the specs,it took my vista experience from a 4.8 to a 5.9,my old card was a radeon hd2600pcie 512mb memory,it does run a little
this card runs all my games at highest settings with max aa/af with no lag.
you can crank the fan speed with catalyst control center and keep it cool during stressful gaming sessions.
on top of being a pretty high end graphic cards it runs all games perfectly.
that's what the giant fan is for :) other thoughts: i just started a new gaming rig, and built it around this card and a core2quad processor.
i recently built an additional pc, my previous pc had crossfire hd 3870's and this new pc only has the hd 4870 - honestly i do not notice a performance difference except to say that (obviously) when
all games i've thrown at it run fantastically, especially farcry 2, and even at max settings at 1920x1200 resolution.
chews up every game i throw at it and spits out the pieces without ocing.
what's great about it:?best value for single card setup available now what's not so great:?4850 crossfire gives much better performance for $100 more, not much worse performance than 4870 crossfire,
great about it:?leading performance, overclocks easily with stock cooling what's not so great:?have to apply fan fix, barely fit in my hp case "i got this card because i wanted to game on my pc.
what's great about it:?easy to install what's not so great:?fan speed needs 3rd party program "bottom line: this card performs quite well for the money.it performs quite well with world of warcraft
it plays the game very well, perhaps no better than my old pny 8800gtx 768mb.
catilyst oc software was tricky in vista 64.
it can be set up crossfire with another card.
if you play games at 1920x1080 this is for you.
well no free game.
aera 51 black suite game will pause for afew sec.

has an issue with wow where it crashes vista when in windowed mode, but this is a driver issue, not a card issue and will soon be resolved.
it blows any game thrown at it, crysis, cod4, you name it.
if you don't you will get lines in games and can't run 3dmark06 other thoughts: i think it's the 2 gb making you bring down the clocks abit compared to the 4870...the graphics are beautiful...i
other thoughts: you want the fastest card with the best drivers out...buy this card....i will soon crossfirex this ...
corsair xms2 dhx 4gb (2 x 2gb) 240-pin ddr2 sdram ddr2 800 (pc2 6400) it was clicking along at 419 fps just out of the box no tweaking or overclocking wow i just set there an marveled at this thing.
i was impressed with that, empire is such a demanding game and this card runs it like its nothing.software and drivers are excellent.
my 4870 ran this game (men of war)flawlessly, so it was either the new 9.4 cats or the new card.
although there is a noticeable difference in frame rate and general game smoothness, i am quite surprised that the fan is much louder than the nvidia product.
other thoughts: install was smooth.if you want a card that runs all your games on high, this is the one.not going to knock nvidia.but ccc rules for gaming.fan speed set at 45%,no heat problems.
great card boght 2 of them and they are fast had some issues with sevral games with my old cards know everything has desapper.
i don't do a lot of heavy gaming but this card has handled everything i've thrown at it.went with this card to match my x48 chipset with crossfire in the future.
even received the oc version from newegg and that makes the deal so much sweeter { 8 ^ ,i see no gaming difference between this 4830 card and the 8800gts 512mb card it replaced - except the price, as
here's some benchmarks:on a 2560 x 1600 screen, bf2 all settings cranked 8xaa, getting a constant 100 fpson a 2560 x 1600 screen with rainbow 6 vegas 2, it's max resolution the game supported was

other thoughts: i have no idea how this card preforms on a gaming machine, but for my purposes its working great.
the card is fast and provides more than enough power to give gaming a whole new look.
well built and a handsome card.i am running two of these in crossfire in a tj10 case.
other thoughts: very good card for the money i believe, we had some dpi issues that we worked out in vista.
overclockable on-the-fly with the included "gamer hud" utility.
the gamer hud program gives an error on starting.
