Cons: It's the size of a house. I went into my system to check a stick of RAM today and when I put it back together I booted up to find a disk read error. Seems this beastly card runs up so closely to my HD that it kicked the connection between the mobo and HD. I had to go back inside and reconfigure the wires to get things going again. from Newegg.com At first I was a little hesitant to make the commitment to the XFX HD489AZDFC Radeon HD 4890. I mean, as I write this, ATI has released their 5000 series cards, all under [...], and all purportedly an order of magnitude than the 4000 series cards. from Amazon.com Pros: Well packaged, great card that performs as I expected and then some. This was an upgrade from a 512 MB 4850 card that I placed in another system. from Newegg.com Pros: 800 Stream Processors, a hefty 850 core clock, 1gb of RAM, almost 4ghz on the Memory Clock, GDDR5 memory, PCIE 2.0... I mean, the list literally goes on forever with this card. from Newegg.com Pros: Newegg has excellent customer service and they RMAed this without a problem. Cons: This 4890 performs more like a 4850. from Newegg.com Pros: Double Lifetime Warranty Cons: I received one of the "Bad" ones. Sending it back to Newegg and getting a different card all together. Other Thoughts: XFX's Support was great. from Newegg.com Pros: It ran Batman: Arkham Asylum, Fallout3, and FEAR 2 at 1680x1050 and full settings at what appeared to be 60fps. (I never benchmarked it, so don't quote that anywhere.)Not to mention it helped my video editing software run a buttload smoother. from Newegg.com Pros: Seemed like a decent price for a 1 GB higher-end video card. Cons: Like pretty much every other person here, my first one was DOA. XFX's tech support was... lacking at best, but thankfully Newegg was great and I got another one within a week. from Newegg.com Runs fast and smooth, and a relatively quiet fan even at full load. Runs FarCry2 at Ultra High, AAx8 @27fps min. Cons: If for whatever reason, you turn the fan up to 100%... it sounds like a jet engine. from Newegg.com
