It would probably deserve a higher rating if it weren't for the monitor detection issues. Cons: You may want to avoid this card to avoid the problems others have experienced. Unfortunately I have also been bitten by the display issues others have reported (no video out at power-on, after logging into Windows the primary display seems to go into power save mode. If I go into the control panel and change a setting, apply it, then all seems well until next reboot). from Newegg.com No voltage adjustments in nVidia software to enable further OC. A+ for Newegg customer service. Never ordering video cards from Gigabyte again. I should have just paid the extra few dollars for a reputable brand. from Newegg.com Pros: #1) Gigabyte is generally a good company that makes great products; #2) this is a very nice and powerful GTX-275 with a slight overclock right out the box Cons: #1) Big card – I got that Antec Three Hundred Illision with a Gigabyte X58 UD4P mobo and it was a very tight squeeze to put this card in, that was further complicated by #2) very awkward heatsink design (plastic fan cover is thickest at the outer edge) caused me to lose 2 out of 6 HD bays because of its thick protruding design; and lastly #3) my card had monitor detection issues right out the box, which were already described by another reviewer – it requires you to physically pull out cables (I have two monitors and tried various combinations of both digital and analog cables of various thickness) just to see Bios or get windows to detect attached monitor, and sometimes having to go through 5-10 minutes of effort just to get what should be the basic functionality...#4) Got what I thought was a very good deal on Newegg (that is unfortunately not so good at all anymore, because of the RMA, see below)... Other Thoughts: Although Newegg tries to make it easy on you, I hate that in order to exchange an item (that is obviously faulty) you have to lose your card for week, which means you are S. from Newegg.com Uh oh, no signal was showing up on my display. I purchased a lot of of different computer hardware for almost four years now and this is technically my first DOA product. I am hesitant to buy another video card from Gigabyte though because of others having a similar experience. Can Gigabyte make this right? from Newegg.com Easily blows away my previous 8800GT in all aspects of performance, and at the same time, it runs quieter and much cooler than the previous card. It's about 10-12 degrees (celcius) cooler at idle, and 15+ cooler at load. It also downclocks itself when you are not gaming, which is a nice power saving feature (I believe all the 200 series cards do this). But as soon as you load up a game, the clocks jump up to their rated specs, and you are at full power. from Newegg.com Pros: Rock steady video output, nice range for overclock Cons: When nvidia drivers are installed, I lose sound. still havent gotten the high def or anolog video to work with this thing. from Newegg.com I will always buy from Newegg..
