The on board video of the GATEWAY wasn't worth a flip, so he decided to upgrade for better performance for the few games that he plays. Noise..?? from Bestbuy.com What's great about it:?Exelent arcitecture , has 512 mb video memory , makes my games work great What's not so great:?no HDMI input but all the rest "I upgraded from an HD2600XT to the HD4650 because my vista score wasn't very good , Windows Vista's scoring maxes out at 5.9 , this card got a 5.4 which was better than the 4.8 I was getting , World of Warcraft runs extreamly well now , this new card is 100% HD Compatible with the BLU-RAY and HD drives although there is not an HDMI port on the video card it is still worth it , plus it comes with a combo DVD ROM game 2 games on the disc . I am very Happy with this purchase and am anxious to test the new Diablo 3 when it comes out , it should run well on this new Video Card , this card is PCI Express 2.0 and I have a PCI Express 1.0 slot and there seems to be no compatibility issues yet between the 1.0 and the 2.0 , I was a little nervous that it wouldn't work but it works Great . from Bestbuy.com I wanted to upgrade the video on my office desktop and chose this Visiontek ATI HD 4650 and an HP 2159m LCD monitor. I only use the computer for 2-D apps and looking at jpegs. from Amazon.com They do get pretty hot and might affect overclocking. Low power usage and doesnt need an PCIe connector. Other Thoughts: Overclocking the RAM of the video card does more wonders than OCing the core in Riva Tuner. The best stable I could get was 640/1050 without artifacts and freezing. from Newegg.com Pros: -Catalyst Controler Menu is real sweet.-Easy to Install-For the price its a great card-CrossFire Feature is a real treat if you want to bump up the Graphics Performance.-Lastly, Power Consumption is Real Low. Cons: Getting an upgrade makes you want to get the very best after you find an adequate Video Card for your system.
