Pros: The card works well on my e6420/Vista system (mostly BF2), so it's a good value, especially for less than $100. Cons: ASUS rebate check was returned ("account closed") almost 4 months(!) after I deposited it, so $30 was sucked out of my checking account. Talk about slimy things to do! from Newegg.com Other Thoughts: Heatsink is fairly hot to the touch but thermocouple shows it's cool. But make sure you have a properly closed case, it depends on air being drawn in from the back by the case fans. And don't bother with Asus-supplied drivers, just download the latest driver from nVidia. from Newegg.com Pros: Low power consumption, Quiet, Efficient heatsink, Good Price to performance value, works great on my ST-400 PSU, performance that gets close to the 8800GT, Overclocking room for even more potential performance Cons: A tad long for micro-atx cases, should fit most anything though. For not much more you can get a faster card, but with the price after rebate its a great deal. Other Thoughts: This card was sent to me by Asus as an RMA replacement for my dying 7900 GTX gpu. Be certain that your MOBO is laid out so these cards don't block anything like SATA connectors, USB & Firewire MOBO headers, audio card, fan connectors and RAM. The case I used has a removable MOBO tray and I used a full ATX Asus MOBO - so it all fit with a little planning. Fortunately, the dual SLI configuration has a PCI slot in-between for air flow. from Newegg.com Takes up two slots and is fairly lengthy as well, had to move a hard drive into another slot as it was in the way. It also almost touches my sata connectors, I was worried the card may get too hot and melt the sata cables. After getting the card to 55c (as hot as I could get it ) i checked the heat coming off the fins and found that it was just not warm enough to cause any problems. Other Thoughts: The instructions for connecting your audio to HDMI via spdif are not very good, also the spdif cable that comes with the card has a 4 pin connector for the motherboard side and 2 pins for the card side. from Newegg.com I am playing Crysis with High and some ultra high settings and getting a steady 30 FPS... COD4 and FARCRY 2 run at max settings..at over 30 FPS.... Bioshock..same thing...gunna pick up Fallout 3 soon and see how that does....running the card at stock too..no OC'ing..about 40C at idle and 57C at full load....as soon as I replace the Stock Htsnk/Fan I will see about OC'ing.....now i'm just waiting for Red Faction: Guerrilla and Borderlands to come out.... Cons: none really..the stock fan is adequate and quiet, but if you want to OC you should upgrade to a Zalman or something... from Newegg.com
