After reading many reviews of the prior release of this card, I was a little hesitant to take the plunge into buying this product, but I'm glad I did. I have a Windows 7 Media Center set-up that this card runs smoothly on with no problems for full Blu-ray audio.
My receiver lights up with Dolby TrueHD, and DTS Master. Sounds great. The software which comes with it(Arcsoft TMT ASUS version)is a little bit limited, and seems to be slow with updates to support the new Blu-Ray titles that come out. It is a lot cheaper than the more expensive Xonar HDAV card.
Don't be fooled by all the scary reviews, this is actually pretty easy to setup in windows 7. I already had a copy of TMT3. I installed the card, hooked up the wires and then spend AN HOUR scratching my head wondering why I didn't have sound. Turns out in the Xonar tool you have to click the HDMI picture on the left.
My current setup (3 yrs old Media Center): -Intel E6600 Dual 2.4 Ghz -ASUS P5N32-E SLI LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 680i MB
One needs to have mastered high tech skills and beyond to get this working under Windows 7. I had to reformat my drives, reinstall windows and even get a new video card, because user manual lists higher requirements than I actually found one needs to have. Plus, searching and applying patches are a headache but totally necessary to get the card working.
