I'm running Windows XP Pro, and I encountered these as well, but managed to install the packaged drivers eventually. They worked fine once installed. I also installed the audio HDMI drivers. These caused some issues, since they overrode some default audio driver settings; if you're not using speakers built into your monitor, this will disable your speakers.
I bought this card via Amazon and am extremely happy with the results. I'm using it on an older (circa 2001) Tyan S2466 dual processor AMD Athlon MP card, 2.1 Ghz, and AGP 4x.
WOW!! What an improvement over my older AGP card (ATI Radion x800xt PE). All my new games can now run with high graphics settings.
I purchased this card for my son's AMD Athalon 3000, gigabyte MB, 1G memory, Windows XP Pro. I didn't want to build a new computer so purchased this to hopefully extend the life of the computer another couple of years before a new build.
Pros: Card has more the tripled my 3DMark06 score I went from a 1706 to a 6110,unfortunately so far this is the only Pro. Cons: Drivers are HORRIBLE and no response yet from hisdigital support of which the only phone contact I can find is a number in Hong Kong.
Pros: Very Fast Video card and Agp 8x , Runs COD 4 MW with no problems , Bioshock, Crysis etc . Cons: The Drivers, The drivers for this card drove me nuts.
and when that driver installed none of my sound worked, but as soon as i disabled it everything was fine. pretty simple really. and i didnt buy this card for sound, otherwise i would have got a sound card! lol.
Pros: Good card, fast, and not too expensive really. I mean, AGP is an aging interface.
Pros: This is a great card for everyone with a older board with a AGP slot. I was a little worried about buying this card for its rating, But after installing it I'm happy for the most part with its performance.
Pros: Well none for now. read cons section Cons: Drivers dont install, plus card freezes the system when windows load cant even get into windows :-(, put my 7600 GS back in and no problems with it, Could the 4670 I got be defective Other Thoughts: Hopefully this card is defective I will give it one more chance if I can swap it for another one.
Radeon HD 4670 VPU, 750 MHz , AGP 8x Interface, 128-bit, 1024 MB (DDR3 SDRAM)
