Best GPS Devices for European

after downloading the us and european map updates (it takes awhile) i practiced with the unit on a few local trips.

you pay a premium to get a unit like this that has both us and european maps.

we already had a simpler nuvi, the 200, and got this one because we were planning a trip to europe and this one has a european database built in.

european maps were very accurate in italy.

i purchased this gps unit in anticipation of taking a european vacation, in that it includes mapping of all of western europe including hungary, in addition to complete coverage of north america.

i don't expect to need the european maps) was the ability to verbaly tell it where you want to go i have found this somewhat limiing as you still need access to the unit or remote.

i bought it because of the included european maps, but haven't had a chance to use it in europe yet.

my impression is that tomtom is much stronger with the european maps than the na maps.
