We ordered this GPS because it offered everything we wanted, we loved the TomTom interface, and Amazon had the best price we could find anywhere. Pros: from Amazon.com This is a very good product. I had a older version of TomTom and this is superior 100 times. from Amazon.com I never travel without my TomTom. It keeps me on track, out of traffic, and helps me plan my entire trip. from Amazon.com If it is giving you an update, it cancels what ever you had down with the voice feature, requiring numerous restarts. Obviously the commands that it is given should be given priority, but it would be nice to be able to continue from where it interrupted you. Getting updates has been a recent challenge, the last was several weeks ago, which required a complete re-installation of the software, which left some missing icons, requiring visits to the Google to find answers. When my 'free' Live services subscription feature expired, I signed up for the $9.95 monthly, which I just unfortunately found out doesn't can't be automatically renewed each month, which resulted in my subscription to expire, which went unnoticed until I no longer was getting traffic updates. from Amazon.com It seems to store these in the same directory on the device as the base map and when it swaps maps it just blows all of that away. This was particularly annoying for me as I had spent an hour or two manually inputing my favorites from my old Garmin Nuvi into the thing, only to have them wiped out after I updated the map. Also, updating the map broke the live traffic updates on the unit. It said that my subscription had expired, which was a false error. from Amazon.com I've had the equipment for a week, the equipment performs well overall, has nice features and is extremely quick in seraching and finding routes. However, it loses the voice capability out of the blue and you have to restart it to get the voice back. Unfortunately I bought a carrying case and put the windshield base in it with the GO-740 and I damaged the fragile screen. Here is where the nightmare starts, you call Tom Tom's customer "service" and after being in hold for 10 minutes an extremely rude person informs you that THERE IS NO TECHNICAL SUPPORT or way to repair a damaged screen even if you want to pay for it. from Amazon.com The GPS is really great with the addition of the LIVE services.
