The unit I got was refurbished and the battery will not hold a charge I an still looking on the web site for a link to customer service. There must be one but I am having trouble finding it. The unit works OK (voice is a little hard to understand with any road noise and is distorted if volume is set high) so long as the car charger stays connected to the unit--the connector keeps coming lose from the unit, due to vibration I suppose, and then after a short time the screen shows a symbol which indicates the unit needs to be charged. This would be a great value for the money--even though refurbished instead of new--if the battery would hold a charge and the car charger cable would stay connected. from Buy.com I had it lockup on me and I call customer service and they talk to me and got it working, I am real satisfy with the nextal x-4T I think it will do the job I got it for , so far when I went to Chicago it did the job in geting me there and back. from Buy.com I gave the Nextar X4-T GPS a 1 out of 5 rating earlier because it was DOA and the Nextar customer service rep was totally useless, which annoyed me. However, I obtained a replacement unit and out of fairness I am revising my review upwards after using it on a 1000 mile trip up the California coast in early July. from Buy.com This item is one of the best I've bought on Buy.com. I had a problem turning it on, but it was my fault. A call to Nextar customer service got me to a real live person who kindly explained to me what to do. It has an MP3 player built in along with picture slideshow ability. from Buy.com The Nextar X4-T is a great GPS navigator! Here's the clincher: To get it serviced within the 1 year "limited" warranty, you of course need to pay the postage to them, but you'll also need to include a money order for $25 for return shipping! That's Nextar's policy. This, by the way, is a discontinued model and you'll find no on-line support for it. from Amazon.com - quick reroute (have purposely gone a different route) - found static with text to voice at the loudest volume setting (easy fix) - short battery life (approx little over 1 hours, good thing for car charger) from Amazon.com If I made a wrong turn, it gets me back on track.
