I have been using a TomTom GO 930T for several months now in the USA. My previous experience with a TomTom GPS was in a rental car touring Italy during the month of August 2008. from Amazon.com I purchased the TomTom 930 because it included maps of North America and Europe. When I first received the unit, I installed the software and registered the unit. from Amazon.com Best thing is it comes with both the European and North American maps installed - saves time and money. Only downfalls are (1) it doesn't automatically switch map bases - which makes setting up favorites on the other map base difficult. (2) Changing language is also difficult - if you get the wrong one (I think it defaults on Afrikkanis!!) and you don't read it, you're gonna do hell getting it right. But once you do - Yeah, I LOVE my tomtom, wouldn't trade it for the world!! from Amazon.com Found easy to set up using new Apple computer and OS 10.5.x. Had difficulty downloading most recent updates to North America and Europe maps. TomTom support very responsive to tel call and internet posted e-mail queries. MUCH BETTER than numerous problems I had with Garmin Nuvi 770 and awful support from Garmin. from Amazon.com I was astounded and flabbergasted when TomTom Customer Support told me I had to purchase a new complete GPS unit EVERY TIME the battery died, I could not believe it. My battery died 1 year and a few days out of warranty. from Amazon.com Does more than I had expected from it. The Remote, Bluetooth, and speech recognition are a plus. The TomTom Home software allows downloading of many additional POI's which users have provided. Could not get traffic to work with coupled B/T device--tech support said my device is not configured for the traffic subscription--there's a flaw in there product sales that allows non-930T owners to purchase 930t-unique s/w. from Amazon.com Then, I wanted to keep my options open, and use Bluetooth streaming of audio and a line out jack, just in case. I also wanted the possibility of using an SD card for Audiobooks, music and additional maps. It has other options, but my goal was achieved last Monday: I was driving on my usual route from my house to the office, a 45 minutes drive, listening to an Audiobook playing in the Tomtom, streamed via Bluetooth to my radio (the brand is Dual, I invested in an Alpine, but for the boat), and the GPS was telling me which way to go (which I knew, so I had the voice silenced). from Amazon.com I have used previous TomTom GPSs and always liked their operation.
