ReviewPros: This is my 2nd Magellan Product and wanted to upgrade to get new topo map software. With the "500" I have had no issues with the set up or the downloading of topo maps from Nat. from Dell.com My primary gps is a Garmin 60cx. I picked this one up on sale to use as a backup GPS and (I'd hoped) to use a geocaching GPS that I could carry with me most days since it's a little more compact than the Garmin I have. Unfortunately, Magellan is unwilling or unable to release the specs for communicating with this unit, so there is absolutely *NO* third party support for the Triton series, and it looks like there may never be. It is SO identical that I marked it and my Triton 400 with markers so that I know which is which. from Amazon.com It also runs on regular non rechargable batteries and seems to run through them pretty quickly, so plan on carrying lots of extra batteries when you go anywhere with this unit!
