Pros: Bought mainly for geocaching. upgraded to this model from the blue legend. Very powerful under trees. Took us within 5 feet of cacheCons: Manual is difficult to understand.. learned to use through trial and error, and watching you-tube video on set up.Comment: Would highly recommend this model. Does very well under heavy trees...
Pros: Excellent, refreshes as fast as my Nuvi. Acquires satellites at an incredible speed, very good under dense cover! Easy to use and set-up, additionalmaps are easy to use also...just plug & play.Love the color, easy to see in bright sun!Cons: Wish the screen was a little larger. Also needs a single page with all in one data at a glance: location - time - distance to target - compass - altitude - accuracy. No frills, upfront data at a glance would be nice.Comment: Love it, will stay with Garmin. Way, way better then my Magellan! Also great for geocaching too, downloads caches direct to the GPS!!!! Wahoooooooooo.
Pros: The unit works very well, and it is easy to use once you figure all the nuiances. It zooms down to a good level and and is very clear to see. It picks up the satellites rapidly and accurately pinpoints location, heading, and elevation.Cons: The only two things that I find irritating is 1) I am constantly having to calibrate the compass because it will lose direction if you turn too quickly or if it loses the satellite. 2) The basemap is virtually worthless, and you have to purchase maps to really use the unit.Comment: Overall a great unit for the price.
Pros: great sizeCons: horible base mapComment: not a bad product all round. Price was good.
Pros: COPACT SIZE IS NICE. FITS IN POCKET. EASY TO OPERATE.Cons: TOO MANY FUNCTIONS NOT REALLY NEEDED FOR A GPS.
Pros: Nice size for carrying. Seems very durable. Screen is readable in sunlight.Cons: We have the Topo Map and not the city map installed so that might be why it is does not track well on roads.Comment: I am hoping it is accurate on trails as we have the topo maps. It tracks quite a distance from city roads unless you have it zoomed out. The buttons take a strong definite push, I suppose because of the rugged use expected. There is a lot of learning to be able to use all of its capabilities. Haven't had it on the trails yet so this is not a very accurate review of its intended use.
Pros: easy to use. easy to read. easy to setupCons: noneComment: Great unit for the price
Pros: great feel>Cons: Complicate>Comment: Great value. Has more capability thn generally required.
Pros: Awesome handheld, great color, GREAT sensitivity from my basement! My other one required a clear (I mean REALLY clear) view of the sky. Great feature set! Love this unit!Cons: Some of the features are hard to find, but they are there, like displaying a greeting message (owner's name) and stopping navigation - seem a little less than intuitive to me, but maybe it's just me (everyone says it is! :) ). Not really major "cons" but things I would have improved had I been the product manager.Comment: Would not hesiatate to buy again - I am very pleased with my purchase decision.
Pros: This is the best gps I've found for finding satelites under conditions of interference...like being in a building.Cons: You need to spend too much money to get all the maps for on and off water.Comment: Battery life, satelite pickup, and flexibility for the way you use it puts the Garmin Etrex vista Vcx ahead of the others.
