I am thinking about this camera to take pictures for my website but I am concerned that maybe I should consider a new camera with a higher resolution, but I am drawn to this price point. Any suggestions?

Lovescameras is absolutely right. You only need 72 dpi for web. If you plan on getting a higher resolution camera, be prepared to have to size all your images down to that or it will slow down your site. If you are going to be doing something like a brochure along with the website, then you might want to consider a higher resolution camera, but other than that, you'll be fine.

If you are creating web pages, a low-resolution camera will do just fine. The resolution for web page images should remain at 72dpi (dots per inch). If you use a higher resolution it will only slow the process of page downloads. Good luck with your website, sounds fun!
