A stainless steel carafe. These are the only way to go. They retain the freshness, flavor, aroma, and heat far longer than a glass, or plastic carafe. In addition, most glass or plastic carafes come with a heat plate which usually leave your coffee tasting burnt.

The Zojirushi Thermal carafes are supposed to be wonderful from the reviews I have read. I would suggest checking out one of those.
