I'll be using them for gaming and movies on my PC. I have a sound card which supports 5.1 surrou. I'm looking for comfort even during prolonged use, and sound as true as I can find it.
I've noticed there's quite a few of them out, but the vast majority aren't TRUE 5.1 surround (as in 3-4 speakers per phone). Instead they offer artificial surround such as SRS or S-logic.
Can anyone comment about the quality of simulated surround (esp. for Senn. or Ultrasone) vs. the quality of true 5.1?
I've been looking at the Tritton True 5.1, Sennheiser's SRS phones (, Sony's MDR series, Earforce, various Ultrasones, and the LTBs.
Any recommendations?

Some companies claim to have True 5.1 Surround headphones, but I've been seeing that there has been a problem reproducing the center channel to obtain the full 5.1. For some good options to try though check out the LTB HSMT-UD Mentor True 5.1 Surround Sound USB Headphone Headphones which is rated highly or the Ltb Audio Systems LTB Magnum True 5.1 USB Surround Headphones w/Built in Microphone, also rated pretty good.
