We found ours at the Salvation Army store for $45.00.
It was made in 1948.
It is like brand new, the only thing I did to it was to change the electrical cord with new, but in the old style.
It still had the original manual, and receipt from when it was bought!
It looks like it came right off the showroom floor!
We had one when I was a kid, but my father gave it away.
I missed it for years, when we saw this one I just had to have it!
There's nothing else like it around. Keep looking , they made alot of them way back then. My sister see's them from time to time.
Good luck on your search, try thrift shops also, and yard sales !
I have an Ironrite that I bought fom the original owner, complbe with owner's instruction manuel. The finish is good, not perfect. The unit runs like a new one, variable heating and all.
I have one!
Still works well.
Bought a house from a very old woman. She left everything, including her Iron Rite.
I'm in NJ.

Iron Rite was very popular in the 40s and 50s, but unfortunately like so many other classic American companies has went into the history books. Your best bet for finding Iron Rite irons is eBay (http://search.ebay.com/ironrite).
There are a number of collector clubs out there as well, and they may be able to point you to parts and such. One such fan base is http://www.irons.com/ironrite.htm which also has a classifieds section that may be of interest!
