my only complaint: since i don't have a dishwasher, this item is sometimes a pain to clean - it's hard to get all the little pieces of onion skin off the blade and lid.
it is so fast and not too hard to clean if you don't misplace the "comb" it comes with.
if there are too many nuts on the grid, it's very hard to press.
the other reviews are right; it is a little hard to press down on but i say 'man up' this cuts down on a lot of work!
granted, if you are not even remotely strong you probably can't push it hard enough to get it through (i wouldn't recommend this for an elderly person).
food does collect around inside rim of cover, but it is not hard to clean.
kitchenaid kfp720er 7-cup food processor with 3-cup mini bowl, empire red food processor can be handy...but in fact they often sit unused because most are hard to clean or changing attachments is
i wouldn't mind if the top was a bit easier to clean, as cheese and some other stickier foods can get jammed in the gap between the lip and the feeder tube, but it's not too hard to clean, just a bit
i love that the buttons are easy to use, and it really isn't that hard to set up once you get the hang of it.
also grates potatoes and other hard vegetables quickly.
i always had to cut harder vegetables into smaller pieces for my old food processor to work well but this one chops it all.
they are a bit confusing at first, as it is hard to figure out how to get them to stop sticking so you can move the processor, but i found that you can solve this problem by just sliding the machine
it's a great decently priced food processor with hard to find adjustable large shute, and mine came with a free rubber spatula perfectly sized for getting every bit of food out of the processor's
the processor is quick, relatively quiet (the motor is quiet; the chopping action can be a little loud if you are doing very hard veggies like carrots or potatoes)and a breeze to clean.
the bowl also has ridged areas running vertical, which makes it a little harder to scrape the contents.
the only downside of this chopper - it is little bit hard to dissasemble and hold.
i've had other mixers that had similar sealing methods and they hardened up after a few years.
it works great on slicing the sweet potatoes you know how hard those things are to slice!
with smaller vegetables, chunks can get caught in this area, and be a bit hard to get out.i don't mind leaving it on the counter so i can slice, shred, and chop as need be.
especially like the large, adjustable feeder chute.shreds hard cheese with ease, too.
i hardly ever need to use speeds 3 and 4.
makes chopping foods for canning a breeze and to me, that was always the hardest part of the process!
this is the 3rd glass cooktop that i have had, but this one has been the hardest to clean.
cuisinart has managed to improve the cover latching system, without making it cumbersome and hard to use (like on the kitchenaid that i tried at williams-sonoma).
-because i like to grate hard and soft cheeses in bulk for adding to lasagnas, topping pizzas, or blending into savory shortbreads and hor d'oeuvre pastries.
it chops , shred , slice but the bad thing is sometimes when making sticky stuff, the stuff goes under the thing that holds the blade and its extremly hard to get out.
anything that has been cooked will blend with ease, nuts and dates were fine, but i would avoid using it for hard cheese.
this is large enough to be very useful but not large enough to be hard to store or too heavy for the compartment in the trailer.
the top of the bowl was hard to close and open and it seemed not worth the effort to do simple things in it.after purchasing the kitchenaid 12cup wide mouth processor, i can only say, it is a pure
my former ka processor's blade actually cut grooves into the bowl and i tossed it as using hard plastic once it has been scratched or abrased can be detrimental to your health.
i like the wide feed tube but the safety makes it hard to use on really big items.
the only thing i would suggest for kitchen aid to improve on is maybe somehow number the different attachments so we would know for example the two shredders and two slicers are hard to tell the size
i'm not sure if i pushed down too hard or the bowl got too full, but the slicing disk ended up slicing into the plastic cover and causing the motor to seize.
excellent for mixing hard to stir ingredients. cons: a little too easy to overdo it and end up with pulverized goo.
i wasn't sure if this product could really make smoothies and chop the hard things like ice (my regular blender is not strong enough to make a smoothie out of frozen fruit or ice) to my surprise it
and it gets the blades pretty gunky, while not hard to wash it takes a few minutes.
i then tried red pepper..which is hard to chop in a machine..and it did that too..and it chopped onions perfectly.
if you use the pulse technique for chopping, you'll get the same effect as a cheese grater, only much faster and it works on harder foods.
it has a lot of torque for a little guy but i wonder how long it will hold up against shredding hard cheese.
it seems to have sufficient power, although we haven't really tried to pulverize anything hard yet.
it's good practice anyway, to squash the chances of encountering any hard food residue and the possible growth of any germs & bacteria!
i bought this product 3 years ago,and use it alot,i haven't had the problems other had, although i dont use it for cheese shredding,i know this is a big machine and should handle this, but cheese is
it is hard to believe something with a half horse power motor can be this quite.
i can't wait to grate hard parmesean cheese for pesto in it, and the key hummus.
it was so hard to get the top to latch on so that the machine would run, and then, any liquid would also leak out of the bottom.
i read another review that mentioned this and once i learned the hard way, then i immediately thought of that assessment.
the work bowl cover is very hard to open and close.
it would be better to have two on each side because having them in the middle makes it hard to use a spatula without making a mess.
the hardened bread will scratch the inside of the bowl and/or will become caught over/under the blade jamming the bowl causing the tabs to crack that hold the bowl in place to the base.
