people raved for over a week about the lemon meringue pie i made with it.
two things i noticed that people had complained about:
i went to the store to see in person which machine i liked better.
them up with safety switches that are made to keep people from injuring themsesves, that probably shouldn't be operating any kind of equipment, under any circumstances.
since i also didn't see any other people complain about the blade stuck problem.
this 3 cup processor is excellent in that for two people one may fix a salad, or a desert.
i would very much recommend this food processor for small jobs, if you a feeding a large amount of people you may want to get something a little bigger...
the size is great, not too big or too small especially for one person.
just the right size for a single person.
people breaking it need to remember just to cut in to smaller pieces.
granted, if you are not even remotely strong you probably can't push it hard enough to get it through (i wouldn't recommend this for an elderly person).
this will chop things 3" wide and 3" long but it takes a special person to expect this machine to chop something 3" high.
enjoy, most people like using it!
also, i'm an extremely impatient person and i really hate cutting onions into tiny little pieces, it drives me up the wall.
i was told that they encourage sales people to do this, but it seemed few knew how.
however i consistently have problems getting the blade off, and this could be a deal-breaker for many people.
if you are like me, who makes chinese dumplings (jiao zi) from scratch for 5 people, you would understand how much work it involves.
i never saw the rebate, nor did the person receiving the gift.
there were conflicting reviews from people on the pros and cons of a cuisanart vs the kitchen aid.
the whipping attachment is difficult to clean and cannot be put in the dishwasher, so i would caution people to keep that in mind when you use it.
i'd personally prefer a brushed chrome that's easier to keep clean.
this food processor is great for large families and/or preparing food for a large amount of people.
i personally think i am doing something wrong because all the other features are fantastic!
the bottom line: 14 cups capacity is great if you have to prepare for at least 4 people.
i would def recommend this product for people who are serious about cooking.
personally i don't have a large family so it does seem like it's a bit too much for me, but that's okay.
i love this product so much that i had to search for it on a couple different websites to tell people how great it is.
*it has a safety feature that requires the top to be locked before the machine can run- safe both for the person putting things in, and for any little ones who may be playing with things on the
hey on the bright side, make sure you keep the box and packaging, the machine looks really nice and expensive, great for re-gifting (just make sure you don't regift it to the person that regifted it
so far we've had nothing but good experiences with it, but it's a good idea to read all the reviews to see if your particular favorite food is something people have had trouble processing with this
i used this processor many times since i have had it, and find the size quite convenient, for my two person family.
so to close, unless you a making food for 20 people all the time and think you need a bigger model, buy this one.
yet, now that i see this thing in person, i see that the maximum liquid line is at 2 to 2.5 cups.
it doesn't make sense to me, though--just because you're cooking for a small number of people, why would you automatically only want small slicing sizes?
