only thing i recommend is the user hold the cover down on the hinge end, as you push down the front of lid to chop your food.
i broke the teeth and now it a pain to clean the white lid teeth that forces the items down.
i was afraid that the plastic part holding the lid would break as it had for some of the other reviewers.
at one point the bottom cracked because it was'nt level on the counter but i still kept using itand had it for about 3 years untill it broke on the top where the lid is attached.
the only bad thing i have to say about this is that i don't like cleaning the little pieces that get stuck in the lid but that is my fault for losing the scraper thing that comes with it.
the lid and feeder tubes aren't attached tightly enough for my liking.
comes with lidded box to store all blades except the small one that fits the smallest bowl--that one nestles in the stacked machine.
the bowls themselves along with the lid and pusher assembly are made of the toughest polycarbonate material available and it actually thicker than all other brands!
i have a kitchenaid red food processor, but mine does not have the wide mouth food lid and did not come with the citus juicer attachement nor the 10-c work bowl.
i found with it already is that the lid doesn't seal well so that even an amount as small as a cup of liquid blows out the top.
aside from the lid hinge on the accessory case this is a very high quality product and i would recommend it highly.
this model's lid and feed tube are a little more complicated than the original model but thank god it's nothing like the dreaded appliance from he** the cuinsinart is!
our only complaint is that when slicing potatoes the other day (with the larger slicer), somehow the slicer tilted too much sending the blade up into the lid--it dug into the plastic for 1/2 a turn
it does a good job pulling the food down into the blades though it does require opening the lid sometimes to push the food down but it comes with a spatula.
cleaning cheese and dough out of the crevices in the lid is a little bit of a challenge sometimes, but if you have a toothpick or small cleaning brush, it's a minor hassle.
i had a problem locking the lid in place when i first got it.
i also find food gets trapped in the deep groove around the rim of the lid, into which the bowl fits to prevent leakage.
this is the piece that acts as a safety feature, latching the lid to the bowl and allowing it to turn on.
my only complaint with this model is that the lid and blade are a bit hard to clean because of various nooks and crannies.
food gets stuck between the slicing and grating blades and the chute because of the ridge formed around the chute and the lid.
it does what it is supposed to do perfectly well, and has great safety feature, it wont run unless the lid is snapped into place.
it was a replacement for a kfp500wh for which i can no longer buy replacement lids.
the bowls and lid design have simple lines and curves, without those little nooks and crannies that are difficult to clean.
i didn't have an overflow from minibowl into the main bowl as mentioned by others, though bits tend to get stuck on the bottom edge of the lid, but not in a spot that's difficult to clean.
- the work bowl and lid have broken, both shattered to be exact, after using about twice/week since february 2006;
screw the blade lid on firmly and pulse it a few times.
it chops, blends, and the screw on lids & mixing cups are surprisingly useful.
the only problem i have had is that i did not tighten the lid enough and some of the magarita spilled into the unit.
cup size - for us commuters, would be better if the cups came with full lids with only a straw hole, and would fit into standard sized cupholders in cars.
the device comes with mugs, different kinds of cups and lids, that you can store and use for any convience in the house, as well as cook in the microwave.
however i do wish it had a bigger opening for the chute in the lid.
if the lid is not securely fastened it won't work (for a reason)- this is to prevent utensils or fingers from getting damaged!
i checked out how the lid opens and closes etc and couldn't find anything visibly wrong with it.
i assumed i wasn't locking the lid on properly, but there's really only a few ways to do it.
i cannot get the lid on it.
