now for a big family room i recommend at least 50 inch ( and for a regular tv viewer you don't really need a 1080p just check on thedynamic contrast ratio and that way you can compare one tv to

the lg plasmas are very good but to me they are more forgiving on regular tv and not quite as good as the samsung on hdtv signals.

1) the sound from the t speakers is useless,yes some of us do like to use the tv speakers for regular tv watching to preserve our hearing.
